Aaron Davey

It had just come over the radio that the tigers and bombers are throwing the kitchen sink at the Dees to get Aaron Davey. Remind me if I am wrong but he signed a 4 year deal last year so I would think this is all but a time wasting exercise by both teams cos it surely would never happen. Story was hille and their first round pick from the bombers and I missed what the tigers come up with but surely not.

Where do people hear this rubbish?

He is set to become an integral part of our leadership group, he is probably the major/if not only x-factor through our midfield and probably doesnt have a market value of a first pick + player.

no doubting you, but for a club to get davey they would have to give ALOT to us AND pay out the remaining 3 years of his contract. No point unless near a Grand Final, Bombers and Tigers arn't.

Its never going to happen, but interesting if true

Not that I'd condone this in any way, but it would be a little hilarious to watch this board go into epic meltdown if we traded Davey.

(We are NOT trading Davey. I repeat, NOT trading him).

I'll tell you what else came over the radio - The War of the Worlds.

It also was BS.

Still frightened MFC supporters though...

Tards.

bigfooty crap, thats all it is, they make up stories because they have boring shyte lives

Four year deal (with three to run) and they would have to give us both of their best players, pay his contract and give us most their picks for us to even give its a moments consideration.

It's a pipe dream of some moron with nothing better to do.

I'm confused.

Didn't trade week finish yesterday at 2 p.m.?

Perhaps we are supposed to be talking about Alwyn Davey? I read somewhere he's not happy at Essendon.

No, it finishes on Monday for some reason.

Ah, thanks mate.

There are whispers that Essendon are into a big fish that will surprise a lot of people.

Can't see it being Davey though. No chance.

BF heroes hypothesizing most probably.

Mind you, I'd almost do that deal.

You kiddin dude???

The way football is played today, Aaron Davey is probably the most valuable commodity available, a player that can take the opposition on, break lines and hit targets.

Pretty sure Davey polled six Brownlow votes against the Pies this year...untradeable

They'd have to add another top 5 draft pick, but that'd get it done.

BF hypothesized on Tom Scully being the illegitimate son of a Carlton champ. BF has less cred than Hutchy and that is saying a lot.

Enlighten me. What station ? Was it a news bulletin report (obviously no) ? Was it a footy journalist following trade week (doubtful) ? Was it a talkback caller with a whisper ?

Polish this gold nugget for me.

NO- MONDAY EVENING-11TH October 2010

Via "SpyandSource" on Twitter... they said to expect a big name to emerge LINKED TO ESSENDON!

Nathan Foley has been a name thrown up and now I hear Aaron Davey mentioned!

Aaron will stay a Dee anyhow.... we signed him for life and he's a good chance to become our next captain (and even he said he has put his hand up for the job in a recent article).

I think they were referring to a "big name" going to Essendon??

Yeh we'll have to wait and see indeed...

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
