The most amazing vitriol I saw this year was towards a club legend/afl legend,by his own supporters.

They backed it up with the worst attended semi-final since 1933.

What an absolute [censored] poor effort.Because of Aker?Strange loyalty.

It just goes to show that a player should avoid going around 1-2 years too many. It's much better when they go out on top, still playing good footy.

By the end B.Johnson was an absolute liability. Things go down very quickly when you're 33+ yrs old.

That is why MFC has made the right suggestion to our own JMcDonald. At 34 next year, things could quickly deteriorate. Another hammy= another 7-8 weeks out. Any loss in form would see supporters call for him to be dropped.

If people want proof that MFC has handled JMc property, just look at B.Johnson as the example of what happens when a player goes on 1 too many years

Over the journey I've seen many players go 1-2 years too many, and others like Barlett,Tuck et al go 1-2 years to early.Because you go an extra year doesn't or should not expose club greats to the vitriol BJ was subjected to.

Very occasionally you go out on a high, most times you are pushed.Footscay supporter base as whole treated one of it's champs bad.IMHO

Big pretenders.

They were never going to win a flag with their current list. They're going to have a hard time replacing Jono, Aker and co.

They have a couple of Father-Son's to introduce next year who will do good things for the Doggies.

Who are they?

Serious??

Mitch Wallis and Thomas Liberatore.

Hard to know anything about the draft prospects this year without having heard of them.

And both are playing this morning in the TAC Cup granny at Etihad for the Calder Cannons.

It's not just the bulldogs who turn on their champions.

Many demons supporters turned on Yze and Robbo before they left.

The bulldogs look gone for the short term though. There depth is rubbish and have about 5 best 22 players leaving this year.

Lucky that they have 2 father son picks in the draft. Couldn't have come at a better time for them.

If their supporters turned on him, it's more the fact that he had a lot to do Aker being sacked. IMHO, Aker may have helped them through the finals series however; they ended up finishing in the same spot they have for the last 3 years.

If what happened behind the scenes at the bulldogs b/w Aker & Johnson was correct, where Johnson was the instigator, then the vitriol he received may be justified.

Well, actually, it's all about the perceptions of the supporters.

Whether Brad Johnson did or didn't orchestrate the downfall of Aker and play injured when he shouldn't have, is immaterial.

The fact is, a lot supporter seem to believe he did those things.

And, as is often the case, perception is reality.

Shame, because all of that is entirely beside the point.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
