I agree, a reasonable discussion, that suggests without provocation or insults, putdowns nor innuendo.

And I did not say I'd sort a forum argument with fists. But that if an argument started in person @ the footy it could be most likely kept respectful by the fact that consequences can occur. That's what usually keeps the talk within the bounds of respect. And reason.. Thats what I'm saying is missing through forums. No accountability between the communicating parties.

Oh, & by the way, I hate punchups, aren't anything special at them, but am strong & strong willed with a fierce anger when pushed in person & have defended myself against 2 or more thugs at once, before, & survived well.

Most people I meet are a pleasure to be around, but these forums can be petty & spiteful, & certainly disrespectful.

A real lack of caring & courtesy.

Everything I ever say has an element of tongue-in-cheek.

You are right that things said in person would be different. But that's more to do with the fact that a disarming smile has a lot of power. Some people just don't seem to appreciate a bit of cheek or self-deprecating humour on a forum.

How do you tell the tone with this stuff through text. I've got No Idea how to differentiate the text unless it's obvious.

Then you get the moderators doing it, & just get angry.

I love a bit of cheek & good humour, when you know how it's meant. Amongst friends its easier, as you know their style.

No problems 'jayceebee31' .. Thank-you for your reply. I just think ... maybe my points ... I made them badly.

I didn't want or intend the conversation to head solely to GC, although I still think they could be a prime target but not the only target.

If I was at GC17 I would be seeking "depth" or "multiple chances to address needs" through out my list. They have essentially only got 1 opportunity to do this in an "compromised" draft where they hold all the cards. Last thing I would want is have say 22 AFL ready players, or players I thought I could "develop" into AFL players then this massive gap to my 23rd. (my numbers dont hold me to them as exacts) However, there is one "caveat" unless I thought I had many, many more AFL ready players.

Suppose that comes down to list evaluation. Now traditionally some clubs have been very poor at this.

IMHO you accumulate your ability to use picks when your are building "depth" or want "multiple chances to address needs". Are we building depth? Do we have the facility to have "multiple chances to address needs" (Well no .. if you are not going to be using your draft pick your not.)

Anyway as I said I could be wrong. (Kinda hope I am now ... hehehe.)
