Chris Connolly was on the TAC show today and mentioned that tomorrow's game will be the first time these four will have played with each other. This sort of crept up without much discussion but whether we win or lose it's going to be great watching this quintessential quartet develop together. What's so great about them is that each one is completely different and their strengths compliment each other, throw Grimes in as well and you have the basis of a great midfield for over a decade.

Exciting times!!

Yeah, heard that as well. Interesting that he highlighted a kid who is currently learning his craft for Casey 2nd's, the FD must really rate him.

His comments about Watts was also interesting. Basically he was asked how Watts' attitude with training compared to Scully and Trengove and he replied that he is learning how to train hard. He then went on to say that it was hard to compare him to those two because their attitude is exceptional and they're pretty much already leaders around the club, they want to win a premiership and they won't except anything but the best from the other players.

The Fitzpatrick comment was interesting.

He was super confident making that statement.

Would be good if it comes true.

Big call if you ask me.

His kicking is very suspect IMO, particularly if he is to become a forward.

Watch for somebody to think that means "Jack Watts' attitude is terrible and he has no leadership ability around the club, he doesn't want to win a premiership and is happy to accept anything from other players."

What I'd like to see today is for Dees to show as much faith in their young players as Richmond, Freo & Essendon have and have at least 3 of these 4 on the ball at all times during the game. No chance of it happening, but I'd like to see it.
