Bruce would not get in my best 22 . Virtually gone IMO- he may even retire before season end.

Wasn't Bruce quoted in an article a few weeks back saying he was keen to play on for a couple of years? He started later as a rookie at arounf age 20 I think so he felt he had a few more seasons left in him. I haven't watched him very closely buy with a our youth focus it seems to make more sense to give gametime to the younger guys but he must be doing something right to keep getting a game.

Cam Bruce is going to be around forever. He's that kind of player. I wouldn't be surprised if he's still here when he's 34. Massive endurance, light frame, good preparation all adds up to a long-lived player. Same with Cale Morton. He'll still be playing at Melbourne in 2025!

What makes Strauss an effective kick is not just his accuracy and penetration but the trajectory is flat

Daniel Rich is also another youngster that has this kicking skill

Its extemely hard to counter and much better than say a booming kick like benny graham could do

Bombing the footy has no place in the backline IMO

All we need is a guy who can kick ACCURATELY over a distance of 190 metres! Imagine, every time the opposition kicked a behind, we would respond with a GOAL! We would have kicked no fewer than 32 goals on Monday if this bloke had played. Is a man with a bionic leg allowed to play? What a recruit he would be. One can always dream can't they? Exactly. I think part of the problem is that they have to work it out amongst themselves before anything happens. Whoever os closest should just get the bloody ball moving!! I've harped on about this before, but I dont think ive ever seen anyone worse at kick ins than us over about 20 years! We have always been terrible at this.
