Something that sadly ND couldn't conquer-he had no plan B.

It was ND's plan A in his final 5 years that brought him unstuck.

sure the Reverend worked Hard at Melbourne don't get me wrong, but i have often wondered whether a different coach would have had the same dips. The odd/even scenario was just surreal!!

In 1999, we lost Viney,Lyon, Tingay and Stynes had good recently. A big dip.

In 2001, we lost Powell, Rigoni, White to LT injuries. Schwarz had begun to fade as an AFL footballer.A few more injuries also

In 2003, we made wholesale changes to the side in an effort to correct then identified structural faults in the 2002 list (eg no CHF, CHB etc). We never achieved it. Yze, Neitz and TJ did not repeat their unbelievable performances of 2002. Possibly "dropped" a few games.

In 2004-6, we were a middling side that never threatened.

2007 - The last roll of the dice and the wheels fell off...badly. By Round 4, the season was as good as gone as so was ND.

Yes i know all that pretty much. The Rev did have his share of bad luck in those mentioned years, but would a different coach have done better or worse in the job?

There were other reasons for it that i would love to find out-But as long as the Club has addressed them i will be satisfied.

make it consistent, make it from 1997 where the team make-up hasn't changed, by removing our 95 and 96 seasons, I doubt we'd be on the bottom...

Changing the year only disguises the Fact.

Why Bother?

What this stat shows is that from 1995 to now we are the worst performed side in the AFL Home & Away series.

Our appearences in Finals only makes it harder to believe.

Daniher was not perfect by any stretch but talk about coaching with one hand tied behind your back.

Not having a go at ND at all, just saying that no other club has ever had that Roller Coaster stat. Sure we had some tough times-but so did other clubs.

The least number of wins since 95. What a disgrace. I am glad that Vlad put the boot in to us a couple of years ago. He probably was looking at this stat just before he said it.

I was initially very angry when he came out and said we had no brand. I now think it was his comments that kick started this (hopeful) revival.

Interesting stat.

I find it weird that peolple are suggesting stats 'prove' something...they don't, but there's value if you can put them into some sort of context.

Like others have said, given that we're up there on finals appearances, the stat shows how inconsistent we've been.
