Rohan Bail (quad) - test

Jack Fitzpatrick (shoulder) - 4 weeks

Max Gawn (knee) - indefinite

Liam Jurrah (shoulder) - 7 weeks

John Meesen (ankle) - indefinite

Ricky Petterd (shoulder) - indefinite

Luke Tapscott (hip) - 8 weeks

Fitzy done his shoulder - too bad!

Meesen is now indefinite. I thought he was 4-6 weeks away.

Tapscott 8 weeks is certainly better than indefinite

Shattered Fitzpatrick is out for 4 weeks. Was on the verge of getting a game with Casey seniors.

Good to see Jurrah looking like he may return around Round 15 (vs Essendon)

How far is Ricky away do we think? it would be great to see him and Liam in the same forward setup

Methinks Meesen is stuffed!!!! Its a shame because he had found some really good form right before he was injured. Of all the ruck options on our list, I would love to see him in the side alongside The Russian. Wish him well getting back, but things don't look promising,

Meesen spoke to the Redleg supporter group which i am a member of at half time last Friday night, has re injured his ankle and does not seem good.

Am I correct in saying that we need another LTI for Mckenzie to be promoted?

No.

Jurrah, Tapscott & Gawn are still out and we can upgrade a rookie "for free" at the halfway mark of the season (in 3 weeks).

Spencer or Newton may not be able to play as players get fit, but McKenzie would be the last to be dropped back.

I've been hanging out for this for ages. With the others, we tend to have the information ahead of time for top players. Tapscott is a kid I thought would have a real say this year.

Probably not fair to expect too much. 8 weeks from now it'll be round 14 (with the break), but he will likely need time to get fit, and some form at Casey reserves and seniors.

Still. Live in hope, and get on him for the 2011 rising star.

:D

Not seeing Blease on this list is a relief, lets hope the soreness wasnt too bad on the wekeend.

I think you are forgetting that Hughes is now also available for senior team selection. Probably for Petterd going on to LTI. Doesn't change the situation re McKenzie, however.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
