Do you know Sam??

Sam's mother is a very good friend of my wife. So, I get all the 'goss about Sam virtually first hand.

As I said in the post, Sam is very keen to be promoted to the senior VFL team. He has had a lot of chats

with DB in recent weeks. DB wants to move things along very cautiously. The injury last year was very serious.

3 weeks

Really?

That kinda sucks. But he was picked with a long-term view in mind so another 3 weeks isn't that long a period, but I do want to see him pushing for AFL selection before the end of the year. As others have said, this kid would slot into our team beautifully, and I'm sure I read a report last year that he was quicker over 20 metres than Davey is.

Yes Blease. Not Strauss.

I walked passed Sam in the Casey car park. I was leaving at half time of the 1s. I asked him how he went and said he got through OK and said his leg was fine. Surprising to hear he may have an injury. Maybe he lied to me.

He may have felt that way then, the day after might be a little different. This is nothing out of the ordinary.

Really no reason for concern on Blease. Remember he's only first year out of school as well. There's nothing negative about a player who doesn't get a game until his 2nd year out of school, it's extremely common, particularly considering Sammy is a very small bloke.

Having watched him at TAC U/18's, his style reminded me much of a young skinny David King. Plenty of pace. Would compliment the side very well and would trouble most opponents.

That's a pretty interesting call.

I really liked King.

Blease doesn't strike me as quite as 'tough', but you did say a young and skinny King.

If he can give us the same type of run North got from King I think I'll be happy.

Watching Blease play you'd suggest he has more talent in his index finger than King. Strange comparison really. 2 totally different players. one a pacy grunt, the other a sleek, pacy, super skilled young Demon!! :)

Yeah, King is a strange comparison.

I think you'd be looking at someone like Stephen Hill at Freo

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs West Coast

Many warned that this was a danger game and the Demons were totally outclassed all game by a young Eagles team at Optus Stadium in Perth as they were defeated by 35 points.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
