Saints have an embarrassment of riches. Yet neither can get a game.

Interesting to note ... The Saints drop Stanley this week with the inclusions of Roo & Kosi - How frustrated must the boy be.

20yo 200cm Ruckmen that can run at his pace dont grow on trees!

Makes sense that Stanley makes way for Riewoldt, like for likem replacement.

Hasn't set the world on fore but I still think he's been reasonable.

Hasn't played in a loss yet the young man.

With Gardiner and King in the twilight of their careers I have no doubt St. Kilda wont let him go. He'll be their long term no.2 ruck prospect.

Did anyone see Stanley attempt to kick that goal in the goalsquare last week?

The kid is as raw as Jake Spencer.

Exactly. He dropped the mark, the ball bounced off his face and then he punched it through trying to grab it. He's tall, skinny and unco, yet he's a gun and Spencer is a spud. It makes no sense.

Yeah wonder if thats the only difference?

You clearly don't understand my point, but I'm not really surprised.

Lynch is just poor man's Matty Bate no? He's that kind of mid range size with a long left boot and red hair. Can mark well but isn't really a key forward. With Jurrah/Petterd/Green/Bate/Dunn I don't know how keen I'd be on Lynch.

Stanley I like. I don't think he'll be a ruckman just a very tall forward who leads up well. Kind of like Watts with a couple of extra cm's but less class. I'd love to have him (despite not even being 100% certain he will make it as a good AFL player - he's still a project) but think we'd have to give up a decent pick.

The saints also have Paul Cahill who goes pretty well at VFL level. He might be worth a look.

Sorry I'm not as good as you.

I sh$t you not, but I was at a function with Lynch this morning. Very bright kid.

I doubt he would leave, as he followed the saints as kid. I have to say I was impressed with his manner, and would be an advocate to bring him across.

Spoke with Nic Heyne also, another promising saints kid wanting a game. Both boys will be playing in the VFL this Sunday, and are both dying to crack the saints team.

Stanley looked decent against us. Would be keen to pillage the saints roster to help us move forward.

Yeah sounds good! I just reckon this is the types of players we should be targeting. Somebody who wants to play AFL over VFL because of lack of opportunities at their current club.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
