from what i saw this morning JW looked awesome, JW is rite on target for round 1, as for casey feilds being 2 far away, its a magnificent ground, but you cant please everyone.

Jack looks great when he has space and he's moving to the ball, but presently he's still poor in one-on-one contests due to strength issues. It's his only achilles heel and should be rectified in time.

yeah it will be rectified in time, compared to this time last season, he will play round 1, when he has set shots for goal he kicks 8 out of 10, he will find space this season and suprise alot of people.

I didn't mention it in my earlier thread , and the point doesn't appear to have been noted by other attendees today , but Matty Bate has worked overtime in the gym over the break and his upper body shape is actually very distinctive now .

I have no hesitation in saying that he is now built along the lines we'd expect of a full time CHF - he has the height , smarts , kicking skills , and now , strength , to make this most important of positions his own .

I thought Bate was pretty strong already if not defined as much. If he has consolidated this (as you day) and can improve his agility a little bit then I am quite looking forward to his year.

thanks for the reports ppl. Cant wait for practice games.

Pretty much everyone got mentioned except Rick Petterd. Any idea how hes going and where do you think he will play this year, fwd or mid?

a couple mentioned gysberts kicking, can you elaborate on why it needs work? action? sloppyness? what was it you guys saw?

i thought bate was one of the most underrated players last season, had a mammoth year. if he can improve on that i will be very excited, because he will push to being in our top 3 players.

Scully is very scrawny and pale.

It's funny how two people can have such a different opinion. I thought Scully had filled out considerably since I last saw him in July at the Dome in the Championships.

Wonna and Ricky Bobby look pretty cut to me.

Watts skinny as the last time I saw him live.

hmmm.... I haven't heard one positive report about Jurrah this summer. I wonder if he's recovering from an injury or can't cope with the heavy demands of a pre season or a combo of both??

Thanks heaps for the report mate! Much appreciated.

As stated in my earlier report, I spoke to Flash regarding him and he said he was returning from recovery from an elbow injury. He ran laps early then 800,400 sprints then went swimming.

Bate definately looks bigger. His body seems more mature/developed.Looked great- oozed confidence

He did come in 4th in the B+F. I've never been a huge fan TBH but he has improved every so gradually in his 5 years at the club. He is not a name that gets thrown up as one of our future stars, but he should be entering his best 3 to 5 years now and who knows how good he will be with a better midfield serving him. Has the assets.

Hate to be pedantic , but it is Trengove!!!! No "r" after "g". (Noah)

I am the 1st to admit I misspell sometimes, but we all need to get his name right.

The media are pathetic with this and previously Russel Robinson's??????? surname.

Remember Flour and Lion! LOL

Love ya passion JCB, not having a go at you , just trying to be considerate to the player. ;)

TRENGOVE not TRENGOVE

Sorry - I WILL CALL HIM BY HIS NICKNAME JC FROM NOW ON.

Thanks for pulling me up- I did not take offence--I'd hate somone calling me JDB instead of JCB

Have a great year mate- GO DEES that is the main thing.

Garland was involved in alot of the main drills , though I didn't notice him kicking . He appeared fit and strong .

I don't think Garland was involved in any of the drill that I saw.

In season 2010 Jack Watts will be a lot like Nathan Ablett, but with a better mindset.

With time he'll become a dominant forward in the mould of Riewoldt, with better skills.

If we're lucky.

You still sure his nickname is J-C?

JT would make a lot more sense.

Unless he really is that good...

Gee, that's some training load. Couldn't they cut it down to, say, a couple of hundred thousand?

Actually I may have misheard Aaron Davey whom I was speaking to after training, I thought he called- Jamie Bennell- JB

and I thought, he quoted Trengove as being JC- I even had a joke about that and said I hope he is as god as JC himself- we will win many priemerships. I may have misheard him as you rightly point out JC is very close to JT in being heard. Big Kev believes his nickname is JT. So I may need to stand to be corrected. If so ,my apologies.

Actually, I don't really care if it is JC, JT ,treeners or what so ever-I just say thank God he is with us -he will be a beauty.

With Grimes, Sylvia, Maloney, Trengove and Scully, becoming the nucleus of our midfield- all I can say is hallelujah.

go dees- I can't wait.

Sometimes photos can be a little deceiving but I have never seen Ricky Petterd look like that?

He looks like one big man now, his size will now match his commitment and courage in going for the ball.

Thanks so munch for the reports.

We under-rate Bater pretty consistently. One of my uncles is a mongrel C'wood supporter, and he rates Bate as one of our best players.

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
