Gawn with the wind

'wind' i guess

Damn it...I changed my name after you posted this.

Lets see if we can come up with some beauty's.

Scully - Dana

Trengove - Noah (no r)

Gysberts - ?

Tapscott - ?

Gawn - Big F##ker

Fitzpatrick - ?

Scully - Bones

Trengove - Bluebeard (no arrrrgh)

Gysberts - Gibber

Tapscott - Highlander

Gawn - Goin-Goin

Fitzpatrick - ?

I reckon give Scully #1, and we have "Tom the Tank Engine"! Works on so many levels.

Scully = Bones - yeah, not great, best I could come up with

Trengove = Noah - this is brilliant ... commentators all over the place are gonna be annoying us for years to come.

Gysberts = Jizz - we'll all have fun when Master Bate hands off to Jizz ... ;-)

Tapscott = Pause - as in: "Luke ... (pause) ... Tapscott", hopefully a few Pies fans had heart-attacks and died.

Gawn = Stretch - if that's his family nickname, I won't fight it

Fitzpatrick = Fitzy - Dunno enough about him to come up with anything good

Gysberts: Bert or Ernie

Jizzpants?

Noah as in "No r" in reference to people always calling trengove, Trengrove

thanks! that is fantastic!

Tapscott - "Vanity" - They've "got taps!!" - sorry, its the plumber in me

Jack Fitzpatrick - Bruno - Might be only me and I don't want to cast assertions on his sexuality but I can see a definite likeness

Scully- Bones

Trengove- Noah

Gysberts- The Jizzer

Tapscott- Tappy

Gawn- Fishin'

Fitzpatrick- Fitzy

Gysberts- The Jizzer

Jizzing.... Does he have some home movies???

Scully - O'Keefe

+1.

Also, Gysberts - Gibbles.

For me, its not so much about an incredibly clever play on words, but moreso something I can reasonably imagine hearing fans call said player without me cringing... and reasonably what you could expect a nickname to evolve into from its original intention, or what his mates would actually call him... you know, something that actually sounds like a fair name that people could be bothered saying.

Scully - Bones is by far the best suggestion I've heard so far

Trengove - JT. Anything else suggested sounds a bit awkward.

Gysberts - Giz / Gizza / Jordie

Tapscott - Tappa

Gawn - Fish

Fitzpatrick - Fitzy

Surely one or 2 of these guys will do something or say something ridiculous that will end up giving them a name like the Russian or Bad Boy Billy, etc.

Gawn = Shrek (check out his facial expressions in his photos) .

That is good, I like that a lot... not sure that he would though... but very apt.

and Luke..................Tapscott

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
