There goes Robbos chance

That was my first thought too....and then I thought that with two quality forwards on the market there are two clubs searching for replacements as well.

Sydney are notorious for taking 'tried players' and Carlscum almost can't afford not to seriously look at him now, afterall they need someone for their 'stellar' midfield to kick the ball to who knows how to catch it. ;)

I don't expect the Bulldogs to have a serious look at him but if he is there in the pre-season draft and willing to play for peanuts (compared to what he would have been on) they will take him.

If I were Robbo and really wanted a premiership to my name, not just wanted to play in the AFL again, I would be offering myself up to Geelong, Sydney, St Kilda, Adelaide and the Bulldogs for minimum $ on a 1 year contract. It's the nearest thing to 'buying' a spot on a list.

If his main motivation to play is money he can consider his AFL career over.

On Fev.

My gut feeling is that Carlscum won't be doing Fev any favours when it comes to getting him to Colling$%^& or the Aints. Why would they? They don't owe him anything.

They will off-load him to the team that is prepared to take on the lions share of his salary, which are reportedly $700k a year for the next two years thanks to a back ended contract.

Given his age it is reasonable to summise that he will probably end up at a club looking at a tilt at a flag in the next 2-3 years too.

Geelong won't be able to fit him into their salary cap, Aint's, Colling^&* and Bulldogs, not sure, Brisbane don't need him, Adelaide maybe but probably don't need him, Hawthorn don't need him either.

If he ends up at another club I think it is likely to be the Poos; for no other reasons than they might get ahead of themselves again and think they are good enough and ready for another tilt at a flag or simply just for the 'membership sales factor'.

The upshot to all of this is that it has put Carlscum's premiership clock back at least a couple of years. As I see it they already have some serious holes in their list and Fev's departure could well create a chasm.

They may well find themselves languishing in the middle of the ladder through one of the leanest drafting periods imaginable. And, at the end of it if they do manage to fill some holes they will be then be looking for replacements for the likes of Judd, Waite, Betts, Carrazzo, Fisher, Simpson and Walker, who of their middle aged players are the only ones I think are good enough to see out the next five years anyway.

I won't even start on the effect it will have on their membership next year!!!

I wonder what their slogan will be next year too ? Could it be...."Oh, oh ,oh.....we came too soon............sorry."

Does it sound like I am enjoying this? Karma's a [censored]!!!

I wonder how Brock's feeling this evening? Probably not as confident about his future and as cocky as his did on SEN this morning I am betting.

I emplore the MFC please make sure to wave as you cruise pass this bunch of cheating pretenders on your way up the ladder.

Go Dees - Building for the future.

massive trade week. I wonder where Melbourne sits in this...

Hoping they can pick up a bargain after another Club stretches their salary cap to fit Fev in.

It is reported 4 clubs will speak to Fevola and or his management. MFC is NOT one. Tim Harrington says he does not suit our youth plans

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
