I have heard McLean to Carlton for pick 11...

Any truth behind this? Am I the only person to have heard this...

PS (heard from a family member who got it from a non credible source as far as i know)

I suppose it would make sense with family connections to the club but do we give him his 10 grand back?

Fairly precarious rumour to be floating, considering who you've previously revealed to be a family member...

I'll believe it when I see it happen.

Tis the season for wild rumours & speculation.

And I'd be surprised if handing back his donation didn't add insult to injury...

Hmm you'd have to entertain the idea.

A midfield of Moloney, McLean and Jones just doesn't sit well with me. Far too one pace for my liking.

It's a predicament though.

If Brock was to play out the rest of his career like he did this year then I'd do it in a heartbeat.

If he regained his 06 form and early 08 form then wouldn't even give it a thought.

it was not my family member that i have mentioned before that said the rumour...

definately not from his way

It is just a rumour atm and im wondering if anything has been heard from it

I dont believe it to have much truth atm either...

edit: in fact, I can reveal that it came from a bloke my Dad swims with who has no connection to the club in any way as far as I know...

the thing is with this rumour is that it has come out so early. things can change. we are more than a month from trade week.

in saying that, I think there is a chance this trade could work out in our favour because it might mean that we can get scully, trengove, best kpp at 11 and then trade 18 for shaunny burgs

We give a player who went 5th in a pretty good draft for pick 11 in a crap one? Good call. Sounds like something Richmond might do.

Rubbish, 2003 was a very thin year - no guns (Cooney pick 1, good player but not a gun IMO).

Kepler Bradley was pick 6 FCS.

2003 will possibly go down as one of the worst drafts ever. Go and check out the top 20 and see how many spuds there are.

2003 Draft

Brock and Ratten may have formed a bond when he was our midfield coach. As far a trades go, i don't see this one as being too bad. Carlton need a grunt type of midfielder to help out Judd at stoppages, we have a couple already in Jones and Moloney(& Valenti). Pick 11 will have us in the market for one of the better KPP players in the draft after we takes mids with our first 2 picks.

sounds like a good one

i mean how many midfielders do we need...Jones,maloney,davey,bruce,macca,strauss,scully and hopefully trengove.

if we keep mclean i think he will struggle to get a game in the future with all the young midfield players coming up. he would have to improve drasticly if he was to keep his spot in 2010

This is no rumor, this is a fact. Brock will not be at the Dees next year. One more star player is about to walk out the door with him.

Talk [censored].

I've heard so many "facts" at this time of year. It makes you wonder what a fact is. I'll believe it if it happens.

A star player at Melbourne?

Grimes has re-signed, Davey and Jurrah aren't going anywhere.

Afraid not. I don't want it to happen, but sadly it is happening.

Name names please ... if "it is happening" ... you have nothing to lose

if this actually happening, this might mean something.

"we will have more first round picks"

i hope it's not true. i love Brocky but if it does happen we better get a 10 year player with pick 11!

and who is this other star? It better be someone older and not one of our young guns!

Bruce? Green?

Edited by frawley for captain

Ahh well, when it happens you will see. I have not made this up, i only posted as i had seen the initial post. My source did not talk about teams or draft picks - only that Brock is out of here. Dont worry i wont post again.

Brock McLean to Melb . for pick 2.

Hold on. We already have him.

Let's just forget about trading Brock.

Firstly, right now we have no 'stars', dafacat.

Secondly, I'd happily trade McLean. There was mention in a paper recently that he was weighing up his future, so I'll not dismiss this 'rumour' as quickly as some. We don't have room for McLean, Moloney and Jones. McLean is never going to be a star. FFS, he's not as good as Luke Ball who's border line at the Saints. And I'm taking into account that he'll be better next year once he's over his troublesome ankle.

I would do this trade tomorrow!!!! Brocks best is behind him, and he is becoming very injury prone.

This trade could go either way, bite us on the arse or we are laughing in 3 years when we recruit another Grimes with pick 11

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
