Liam Jurrah

I hate when people label players but I can't help it, I think this kid is going to be very special. I love watching him play. He is going to bring people to the game to see him play and hopefully draw more members for us. He will fill the highlights videos and bring real excitement back to the game. I can't wait to see him let loose in the forward line for a whole game with other good players around him. Scully to Jurrah, goal. We are in for exciting times.

You just never know what he's going to do next, and that unpredictability will be great to market to. I mean WTF can you do about his goal today, he wasn't even looking in the right direction!

We've only seen the start of the Walpiri Wizard!

Obviously you guys had bigger fish to fry today but l do wish he could have been left one out at deep forward all day. He looked really up for it today, could have ended up with 7 or 8 and a huge addition to the highlight reel.

Yep, could have kicked 6-7 for the game if Bailey kept him on for the majority of the game. But every time we got within about 10-15 points off came Jurrah. The guy already has a large highlights reel, imagine the length of it in a couple of years (salivates). Jurrah is a champ, a freak, pure and simple.

Go the Kuuggggggggggggaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

There will be plenty of time for him to kick big bags with Scully and Trengrove delivering it to him for the next decade!

"And the Winner of the Norm Smith Medal for 2010 is Liam Jurrah"

CROWD GOES ABSOLUTELY NUTS.....

He is magic.

Great to know that we're not losing that bit of x-factor with Robbo's departure. The Wizard has it covered.

His first goal was just stupid. I mean come on!

What about his one handed Grab in the first Q!!!

Even he was suprised. it just stuck.

I try to hold my excitement for the bloke, but it's just impossible!

While I was giving updates on todays game, I couldn't help but praise him! His efforts are unbelievable and at half time he was even with Hayes, Dal Santo and Montagna for contested possessions!!

A bit of a break to go home and see his family and friends, throw a few hundred dees jumpers around central australia, a solid pre-season and a full season of forward line action..... OMG! Liam I thank you! I have not been this excited since, dare I say it, Allen Jakovich!!!

And he looks like one of those players that will just love playing in front of the big crowds on the best ground in the world

Cherish the moment every time he runs out for the red and blue

Yes there is a bit of the Jakovich X Factor in the Jurrah boy isn't there.

Maybe no 13 for next year??

Trengove

Our 2010 game plan?? B)

Everything he does looks so.. effortless. Like its an automatic reaction.

Like there's nothing special at all about what he just did - it was purely just a natural progression of events.

When in fact almost every action is remarkable in itself.

Ok, I'll stop gushing... but this to me is son unexpected that I almost don't believe its real.

Once this guy has a preseason on the track and in the weights room, let alone 2 or 3.. WOW.

Not sure what the excitment is about.

Anyone who has taken a one handed at full stretch running with the flight of the ball or snapped one straight back over their heads from 25 out would struggle to comphend what the fuss is about.

... in their first AFL season, against the premiership favourites.

If Wonna has recovered fully and does an entire pre-season without any further injury, I look forward to 'something special' (thanks Bruce) between him and Liam.

I'm not totally sold on Wonna just yet but this is a great 'let's hope and see' scenario.

The only problem I have with Jurrah is that I now expect something magic everytime the ball is near him. I'm going to be disappointed if he doesn't take the mark of the year, or kick the goal of the year every game. It's a terrible problem to have.

That was great when he did the Octopus mark in the first and just showed it to Gilbert......Gold :o

Give it ago. Don't let ability hold you back.

Don't Worry BM i am impressed with your humour. I got an excellent laugh at that irony!!!

I'm yet to watch todays game yet but it's hard not to get excited from watching Jurrah's progression each week. Perhaps Robbo could hand down the number 24 as well as the rights to being the new excitement machine in the forward line.

Now that is a great Idea. Robbo would be proud of that i reckon.

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
