DO IT FOR JIM

Featured Replies

Be good to get a couple of choruses of "You'll Never Walk Alone" going for Jimmy at the game.

i'm a massive liverpool fan, used to be a season ticket holder, this song SHOULD be played for jimmy on sat, i met him a few weeks ago and had a chat about playing gaelic football against his brother sean years ago back home, who knocked the [censored] out of me by the way, and he was such a genuine man. i wish him and his family the best

i cant be there on saturday, much to my huge disappointment.

come on Demons, show us what you're made of

You'll Never Walk Alone Jimmy

Lyrics for "You'll Never Walk Alone" below:

When you walk

Through a storm

Hold your head, up high

And don't be afraid, of the dark

'Coz at the end of the storm

Is a golden sky

And the sweet silver song

Of the lark

Walk on, through the wind

Walk on, through the rain

Though your dreams be tossed

And blown

Walk on, walk on

With hope, in your heart

And you'll never walk alone

You'll never walk alone

Alone

Walk on, walk on

With hope in your hearts

You'll never walk, alone

You know what. It's not a bad idea, if it can be done. It will speak volumes for the support for Jimmy. A legend of the club with another great challenge confronting him.

I can't get to the game this week as i have a wedding but i'll be wearing my Dees jumper under me bag of fruit, just for you Jimma!!!

Jim,Cancer will be no match for you, you'll beat it with ease,it won't know what hit it

Thinking of you and your family.

Gees I hate Liverpool

But i have to admit, when the whole crowd at the Australia v Uruguay sung the song in unison for the late Johnny Warren, it was very hard not to get a tear in the eye.

Would be good to sing it for Jimmy, but don't think it would work too well with a dismal crowd at a big ground

even my dad and my aunt are (in dads case anyway) squeezing themselves into my spare dees jumpers. this is gonna be huge

The last time we played "You'll never walk alone" was in memory of Troy Broadbridge - I'd rather we not sing it as Jimmy commences his fight.

Agree.

Let's not eulogise.

I would be there in less than a heartbeat, and i tried to get work off to be there, but somethings just weren't meant to be. I will be thinking about the boys and Jimmy the whole time, this is our only must win game of the year.

Don't have a spare $1,600 to make the journey!

But I will there in spirit. Hope we can crack 20K and put in a great effort for Jimmy!

Well done to the MFC for putting in the first instalment of thanks for all of Jim's efforts thus far.

Saturday will be our personal message to Jim. We care enough to attend the game.

Jim put is body on the line when he played, and now it seems his health when he

became pres.

NOW ITS OUR TURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you care enough?

Lets all show we care by putting our bums on seats at the G on Saturday.

Show Jim his sacrifices havnt been in vain, WE the supporters CARE.

Question, do you care enough to go?

NO excuses just go.

ALL THE BEST TO JIM AND HIS FAMILY.

Round 14, MCG, Melbourne defeats West Coast Attendance: 23149

I can't tell you how envious I am of people who were able to be at the game today.

You should be proud and honoured to have been there.

Did it Jim. Now you go get yourself well so you can hold up the cup for us in a couple of years. Love and best wishes mate.

I must Purchase a DVD of the Game. I was there & do not wish to let it slide into the past Completely. I lost my Voice for the Boys & Jimma...

And certain journalists keep reciting that we MFC Supporters show little Passion!!!! [censored] Off. Demons Rule.

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
