Bennell - much to learn

Bruce - never stopped trying

Davey - classy as usual

Frawley - tried but failed

Green - had little influence

Grimes - stuck to task

Jetta - disposal was disappointing

Johnson - murdered in centre

Jones - tried but failed

Jurrah - cause for optimism

Martin - growing in confidence

McLean - needs rest immediately

Miller - a casual observer

Moloney - failed to impress

Morton - played without intensity

Petterd - little to enthuse

Rivers - totally one dimensional

Robertson - career is over

Sylvia - quieter but pleasing

Whelan - game has passed

Warnock - was well beaten

Watts - had occasional involvement

I hate the way Davey is playing/used. Teams have worked out our "structure".....

Bruce - Effective all night.

Grimes - Cool and assured.

Martin - Athletic and agile.

Jetta - promising young colt.

Watts- Encouraging signs tonight.

Jurrah - Love his composure.

You mean just pass it to davey all the time??

Sweeping around the back to setup play. He isnt damaging in this role at all and opposition clubs just allow him possession in our D50 to ensure that he can't use his skills in the F50. His stats are inflated but his effectiveness is pretty average.

JJJ that's a great Avatar...

Back on topic, joeboy ou were very kind.

Not your worst effort though. Good to see the players who tried are recognised...

Though I'm sure Bruce's good game will again be ignored. Sylvia warms the heart too.

As opposed to stuck in our forward line rarely sighted, as the ball doesn't travel down there very often and he finishes with a stat line of 9 kicks, 3 handballs and maybe a goal. Then he would cop it for not doing enough.

Bruce: 2nd-best on, one of his best games this year.

Davey: our only eilte player. Without him it would have been the 80-point loss it threatened to be. A brilliant first-half.

Green: Not involved enough.

McLean: Must be rested immediately. Playing him in his current state is hurting both him and the side.

Warnock: rarely sighted.

Watts: Not involved. Should never have played in the first place back on Queen's BDay, now he's in, play him next week and take it from there.

Miller: Not involved.

Paul Johnson: Fuking atrocious, one of the worst ruckmen getting a gig in the league at the moment. We have no other options though, unfortunately.

Bruce - continues impressive season

Grimes - signs for future

Rivers - possibly trade bait

Robbo - time is up

Whelan - playing out career :(

Jetta - at least trying

Watts - what a mark (but nowhere ready)

Martin - please don't kick

Frawley - becoming a player

As opposed to stuck in our forward line rarely sighted, as the ball doesn't travel down there very often and he finishes with a stat line of 9 kicks, 3 handballs and maybe a goal. Then he would cop it for not doing enough.

Not quite. I think he should start in the midfield and push forward. I would be happy for him to get the pill less if he were having more inside 50's and using his pace more forward of the centre.

I would give Watts 1 more week. We may be able to play well enough to give the forwards the delivery they need and he could benefit and gain some confidence.

Bennell - still developing

Davey - team quarter back

Frawley - Im becoming a fan

Green - Not back to 100%

Grimes - showing good signs

Jetta - competeing with marric for role

Johnson - not a ruckman

Jones - always has a crack

Jurrah - raw, but promising

Martin - needs development, potential plus

McLean - very very poor

Miller - lacks impact

Moloney - form drop continues

Morton - just cruising

Petterd - little impact

Rivers - needs to be mre accountable

Robertson - fan fav, career over

Sylvia - head down, bum up

Whelan - gutsy,career over

Warnock - hard with no midfield pressure

Watts - 3-4years away

We have really gone down hill in the last few weeks.. But two players i want to mention. Bruce is bagged on here non stop but he is having a really good year in a shockingly bad side. He is class and the people who bag him no bugger all about footy. The other is N. Jones, he may make poor decisions and lack a bit of skill, but when he pulls on the guernsey he puts his body on the line and gives his all right through the game. Its more than i can say for 80% of his team mates and he deserves more than being a late inclusion and always starting from the bench....

Bennell - Takes them on

Bruce - Same as usual

Davey - Surrounded by darkness

Frawley - Taking on responsibilty

Green - Was unusually quiet

Grimes - Continued his apprenticeship

Jetta - Provided forward movement

Johnson - Tried hard again

Jones - Not his best

Jurrah - Flicker of hope

Martin - Learn to kick

McLean - Looks very sore

Miller - Typical uninfluential game

Moloney - Needs to lead

Morton - Started runnign again

Petterd - Where to play?

Rivers - Will take time

Robertson - Starved of supply

Sylvia - Gradually earning respect

Whelan - No preseason shows

Warnock - Was very quiet

Watts - Boy playing men

Joeboy, this is my first attempt at one of these 3 word analysis, it's alot harder than I thought!

There is only a handful of players in the whole AFL that i consider being ELITE

Davey ISNT one of them

This is largely based on radio:

Bennell - didn't do much

Bruce - gave us something

Davey - still our best

Frawley - never gave up

Green - good, not great

Grimes - improves each week

Jetta - best overall effort

Johnson - a useless ruckman

Jones - career at crossroads

Jurrah - composed but inexperienced

Martin - kicking an issue

McLean - needs time off

Miller - did he play?

Moloney - not his best

Morton - lacking in aggression

Petterd - didn't justify selection

Rivers - just a game

Robertson - end of line

Sylvia - loving the consistency

Whelan - shouldn't be playing

Warnock - unfortunately well beaten

Watts - boy amongst men

Whelan : All heart, wish everybody played with his passion

Grimes : Gunna b good,sorry great

Frawley/Warnock : considering the tsunami coming at them , got a lot of guts and did well

Jetta/Bennell: Learning ,watchout next year. They are only kids.

Morton: Lost a bit of confidence. Brushed aside a bit easily

Rivers: guts, determination . However he is not superman.

Sylvia: Suprised at his stats. Starting to show class. Needs to be in centre.

Bruce/Green: Suprised at stats, Probably not imposing themselves a lot. ( However it is easy to be harsh from over the fence)

Miller : Suffered lack of delivery

Robertson: Used to be a really good player. Still not a key forward.

Davey : 1/4 back, but wish he would kick forward more often

Petterd : needs to get more of the ball

Martin : still got a bit to learn as a ruckman, but too valuable to throw aside. Gunna b great

PJ : Has heart, chases, but please get someone to make decisions for him. Got to praise his contribution. Remember NIckolson.

Watts: Starting to show good signs. Having trouble physically imposing himself. Signs his decision making is potentially great

Jurrah : Starting to catch tempo. He is just going to show some magic soon.

McLean/Jones/Moloney: Lost the centre clearances too often .by all being at the bottom of the pack (good thing), but can only afford to have 2 of them in the side . Would suggest rotating them 2 on 1 rest. Would give their bodies time to rest.

Overall Brisbane seemed to have too much easy ball coming into their forward line. Makes it difficult for defended

We seemed to bomb it in and faced 2 on 1 (at best. Did not choose good options. However our forwards were a bit stagnant. Confidence will encourage them to move around.

Likewise we became over concentrating on right options rather than plaing on instinct. DO not give a damn if we lose, but lets play with the gay abandon that Essendon/Hawthorn (when playing good) &Geelong do.

Go Dees !!! Rodney Grinter would make a great foil for James F

Frawley: Stats were unflattering (3 goals to Bradshaw but I thought Frawley was great, especially given the regularity of the supply)

Johnson: In by default (wouldn't be getting a game if we had any other ruckman fit IMO)

McLean: Needs a break (if he's injured, rest him. If he's not injured, drop him)

Whelan: Keeping spot warm (warming the spot for anyone who wants to grab it with both hands, which nobody is doing atm. I'd like to see Petterd given a shot at his role.)

The term 'elite' is thrown about a fair bit these days. Maybe if I said 'our only A-grade player'?? He's a step above anyone else we've got at the moment, only other is Green who could have claims to being able to make any of the decent sides in the comp.

What structure?

Tom Scully - Better be worthwhile

Good lighthearted post.

Whelan : All heart, wish everybody played with his passion

Grimes : Gunna b good,sorry great

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
