dreamin' man 0 Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Fabulous news. LJ to play: http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl...7-19742,00.html
Jaded No More 68,976 Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Quote Since being selected at No. 1 in the pre-season draft in December, Jurrah has been taking Engligh lessons. It's a shame you didn't, Mark Stevens! :D What a fantastic story this is, and a lot of credit must be given to Jurrah and the club for managing to fast track the development of someone who has come from so far back. If he can continue to stay fit both physically and emotionally, and settle in well at the club, there is no doubt he will be a very very special player who will bring in the crowds and help us win games. Good luck to him!
rpfc 29,048 Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Good luck to LJ. But number 48? I bet that comes down a little next season...
furious d 477 Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 jk- jk- jooka- jookaaah. Damn, wasn't gonna go to this 'cause I hate Ekithump. No choice now :D

Adelaide Demon 0 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Read the Adelaide Advertiser for the first time in a month or two this morning to see Liam Jurrah staring back at me on some Melbourne beach. Fair chuffed I have to say. One of the few times one doesn't regret picking up that piece of shyte excuse for a 'paper and spending a couple of minutes reading it. Interesting to hear that he is still in the process of learning English, and was playing or training barefoot not a year ago. Talk about raw talent! Can't wait!
RudeBoy 164 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Martin Flanagan's article is even better. http://www.theage.com.au/news/rfnews/warlp...4918083472.html

His first line says "big business is happening at the MCG tomorrow night"
AzzKikA 2,371 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 WWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO can't wait to see him play, i just hope he doesn't get stage fright!
Guest Rojik of the Arctic Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Good luck and best wishes Liam. Just remember that, good or bad, tomorrow night is just the first step in what should be a great journey.
Ryan Dee 140 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Only seen a few clips of him at work but looks good. Never seen so much hipe on this site about a player sice JW, and id say more people are excited about this bloke. Goodluck, and dont get injured (touch wood).
Vipercrunch 2,864 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 People are excited because there is a very unique story behind a player that also has great potential. Really looking forward to seeing him in the bigtime. The story is only beginning....
Adelaide Demon 0 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Yeah, I think a few of the above posts have touched on it. There is a lot of hype among Melbourne fans, similar to that which there was about Watts, even though Watts is far more well-known. It's because there is a number-one pick every year. A story like Liam Jurrah is once-a-decade.
Ryan Dee 140 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I have been busy the last week, can someone link me to this story or thread about LJ and his background?
Sir Why You Little 37,510 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I read Both articles & am Genuinely excited. Good Luck Liam For a long carreer as a Demon. Can't wait for all our indigenous players to all be Ripping in the Seniors together...Exciting times ahead. (and some people here wish to sack the coach before these kids have even played!! I mean really) Jack Watts & Liam Jurrah up forward for our next game-sweet.
the fork 357 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Good luck LJ. You have our attention, you have our excitement and you have our support. We're with you mate, not just tomorrow night, but for the rest of your career. Do the Walpiri mob proud.

deanox 10,071 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 good article to read if anyone is interested about LJ's first foray into the melbourne... http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/news/magp...6857513262.html article is also written by martin flanagan, and he has reused some of his material this week. but its slightly different nonetheless.

Guest morton10 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Hmmm maybe wait till he has played his first game before we start talking about movie potential. LJ will have the same impact on a game similar to chris lamb!!
