Why is Bell playing? German said that he still needs to work on his awareness, so he is still having problems with that major flaw in his game that is distroying his football career until he can sort that out he shouldn't be getting a game surely Cheney should get a game ahead of him. Robbo makes 1 mistake and gets dropped while Miller makes about 10 mistakes and keeps his spot. When are they going to wake up to this spud and drop him.

There was more than one mistake Brockstar5, he was also out of form - which was quoted by Bailey on TFS, but part of it was that major, major blunder - it's been well documented so I won't have to go on about it, and his kicking for goal. Common sense really re: team rules. I agree with Miller (esp. his kicking for goal).

Um, let's see if Bell will get another contract, my head says no, but it only matters what he does on Sat night. Jamar would want to stamp his position but Spencer isn't banging down the door just yet.

Robbo has to come back from this challenge, his petulance (greasing off teammates who don't kick it to him, looking at the heavens with umpiring decisions etc.) is staggering for someone whose career is hanging by a weak achilles tendon...

I think Robbo is going to struggle to get another contract, but again - it is up to him, and the way he comes back from getting dropped.

One thing I will bring up with reference to 'DemonDan...' - You think Bailey should step aside because this team should be in the finals... Really? This team?

There is some potential there but we are, Richmond included, the worst team in the league, we have won 9 of our last 53 games of AFL!

We are less crap than last year but we are coming from a fair way back.

Awesome thread guys. Highly amusing. I never imagined people would start bragging about IQ scores during a discussion about team selection.

I only really have one thing to add. IMO Bell will do well in a half-forward or attacking midfielder role. His temperment just wasn't cut out for work deep in the backline under the pressure we have been under in the last few seasons. I am really hopeful he will flourish away from the pressure and hope he can resurrect his career.

Yeah he did make more than 1 mistake but I don't think his form has been too bad. He should have had 4 goals on the weekend he made that major blunder which he deservedly copped a lot of crap for but what about Miller missing Robbo by about 20 metres with his handball when he was running into an open goal to me that is just as bad. This year Miller has kicked 11 goals in 9 games Robbo has kicked 10 in 4 games. Bate has kicked as many goals as Miller and he has copped a bagging on this forum all year. Miller has been around for about 9 years now his form is not good enough for someone that has been around for that long. At least 1 good thing will come out of this, it will show how inept Miller is as the no1 forward he should enjoy the surroundings of his future home. Robbo should have been allowed to respond Miller shouldn't even be getting a game for Casey.

That handball by Miller certainly wasn't a good audition for the handball comp on the Sunday Footy Show. Besides he probably should have had the confidence to kick the goal himself. Clearly lacks the confidence to do so. Hence his dud handball.

With regard to your last couple of sentences (underlined), I thought Miller was doing ok in Robbo's absence this season, despite his occassional erratic/wayward kicking for goal.

Err, I'd think they'd be playing Robertson so he can teach some of our younger, developing forwards a trick or two. He's far from finished what a ridiculous statement, the guys played a mere 4 games into his comeback from a potential career ending injury, and is only 1 goal off leading our goalkicking!

This seems to be the flavour of the week, but I'll say it anyway, which tricks can Robbo treat the young kids? If he's teaching them anything, it's that poor form and lack of a team midset will get you dropped.
