Just got back from the G.

I hope some other Demonlanders were there to enjoy it as it was a privilege to be there. It was in the Frank Grey Smith bar in the members with finger food provided and drinks available at the bar!

Schwabby spoke with great passion about our direction and how other clubs are beginning to take notice of our improving situation on and off the field. He is a terrific speaker. DB was his usual casual self and gave a good insight into what he is doing with the list. Players are being tried in several positions on the ground (eg, Martin and Morton of late) in the hope that in a few years time we will be a very hard team to coach against due to the players flexibility in different roles around the ground. He definitely is out to win games however!

The 3 lads there were Belly, Chip and Dunny. All had a 5 minute chat and were very happy to talk to people thru the night. Belly was asked to tell the story about how he became such a good tackler by tackling sheep on the farm and throwing them in the ute!. He said Chip Frawley used to do it as well but for different reasons !! I thought it was very funny but i think a few eyebrows were raised by some older folk! Nice one Belly. I had a good chat with Chip. Top fella and I reckon there is a lot of larrakin in him. A very likable bloke. Both Belly and Dunny seem like good fellas too and its nice to be represented by such seemingly good blokes! Chip rolled his ankle a little against hawks just quietly!

Finally, just before i left for home I took a stroll out into the members stand with not a sole in sight and just stood there and worshiped our home. Just f%$@ing sensational!!! I love our football team!!

Hi Hell Bent,

I was there tonight and share your sentiments on the evening; it was highly positive and a confirmatory boost that we are well and truly on the right track to having a strong and capable team with a good culture to match.

I also thought Schwab's point about the Hall of Fame was particularly interesting; he highlighted and questioned why Melbournefc with all its long standing history only has TWO members in the Hall of Fame - when you think of the players who have played in five Grand Finals... How could this be?

As for Bailey, I find him to be focused on the job with a no nonsense approach, but not taking it too seriously and has a dry sense of humour. I am comfortable that he is doing the right thing and with a strategy in mind that is for the long term - and one that will give us the competitive edge, can't wait to see the results in years to come as the young players mature their game and play out this adaptable outfit in a game that is changing also - Mfc WILL be a force.

The interviews with the players was great, they have a good spirit while not being arrogant, and are learning and taking it all in. From the outside there does seem to be a good spirit and comraderie. And as one of the speakers during the night highlighted that a good culture is a necessity.

HB you are right, the G at night is breathtaking!

All up, Demon fans can be rightly excited, I know I am.

Go Dees!

The Demon is waking up & he is very Hungry. Our club is moving-we can all taste it.

This Momentum should be fed & Nurtured, So the Entire AFL takes notice of us. We are Melbourne The Heart & Soul of Australian Football.

No wonder Bailey got a unanamous vote after his initial Interview. Very Smart Young Man-Thorough, you can see the improvement so much on last year.

Go the Demons......

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
