Yes, indeed some perspective is needed here in order to understand why Robbo plays the way he plays some times. The "hangars" he goes for are some times unecessary but more often than not required as he is 184cm and playing on a KP defender. Not to mention that we have no forward system what so ever and he is one of the few dangerous forwards we have who has the courage to commit. We don't have crumbers at the moment up forward and this hurts all our forwards but especially those who can actually get off the ground and go for big grabs. Our forward line is a drop in centre from one week to the next so structure and understsnding between players is not what it could be (Martin made a visit this week who will it be next week?). It is easy to be called a lair when you have to play a certain style to be effective. There are aspects of his game which should have been ironed out under Daniher but alas Daniher coached the team as a collective but not individuals. We are stuck with Robbo for all his pros and cons and Bailey will address some of these cons but it is important to understand the job he has and how he is doing his best to do it within his ability without letting one stupid act distort that. Whether he plays next year or not Robbo is still our most dangerous forward and whether we like it or not it is because of the way he plays (or has to play).

But isnt it his job to take marks and if taking hangers is his best way of doing so? As long as he doesnt give away free kicks.

We should have enough crumbers staying down. His job is to create a contest.

How do you know that we were never going to win that game anyway? Had he gone back and kicked it like he should have......well we're 5 points closer....and an entire different set of circumstances presents itself.

Facts are he made one of the most stupid blunders of all time to please himself. He had no awareness that Moss was nearby. He cost the team a goal. He was dragged for the reasons stated in this thread. What else are you trying to prove?

You can forget the past too, especially the last couple of years. There is nothing to excite when you go there. Let's look to the future where we want a team that works as a team and not a team of individuals, if it's the latter you can forget about a Flag.

i watched the 1st quarter, thats how i knew we were going to lose (or correctly guessed that we would.) We FUMBLED our way into the forward line and the hawks went 'tap,tap,tap.Goal'.. half a dozen times! the task was always going to be hard but after the 1st quarter it became all but impossible, thats how i knew we'd lose.. (still, a good last half tho.)

Why would you launch yourself 4-5 feet into the air, come down hard, flat on your back to take a mark for your team and then undo all that hard work to then PURPOSEFULLY or in the act of LAIRISING stuff up all the good effort that you just made??? It doesn't make sense.

c'mon HT, before robbos injury we were cheering loud -u and me and most- cause he's the only prospect we had to kick a score.. and he did it bloody well!

I think it's time to bring in the Russian to give him a bit of a run, & also that elevates Spencer to the Casey seniors.

I think also that Belly is almost due for a go in the Mids in a further week or 2. We need to have a look at him in the clearances for a few games.

Robbo's brain-fade on the goal line was a disastrous mistake, but i fail to find any better forward options in better form at Casey, so he stays for now. But he must lift.

I reckon Jamar will be close to selection after his BOG performance at Casey. I'm a self-confessed Jamar-basher, but i think against the Saints older ruckman in Gardiner and King, he'll be a handy inclusion playing 2nd ruck, allowing Stef Martin to play a full match deep in the forward line and not having to ruck (he's not a ruckman and his performances in the ruck thus far show this).

So for me, just the one change:
