For those people who are hoping we dont win (I presume to keep our win rate down) - why the hell shouldnt we win?? If the boys do get over the line, wouldnt it be a HUGE boost to the young fellas in the team?

Winning culture is what we need to start developing with this young side - not "oh well, we got close"

The 'winning culture' can start next year after we clean up in the last uncompromised draft for the next 5 years.

Anyway, most of our 'young side' is sitting in the stands (Garland, Strauss, Cheney, Jetta, McKenzie, Newton, Hughes etc) or playing for their grammar school at the moment.

A 2 goal loss at this point will be sufficient to let the football world know we have a game plan and just need the cattle (read young players sitting on the side lines) to execute it.

Go Dees - Building for the Future (last this year with less than 5 wins please).

Dappa after 2 horrible kicks from Bruce with his first 2 possessions he has been def one of our best.

Thanks c84...

What's going on with Robbo? I wonder, has the injury taken a few yards off his kicking distance? He can kick those ones from in close, thankyou Cam Bruce AGAIN, but he has struggled to make fifty metres twice.

Am I jumping at shadows? Or was he kicking from further out?

4 goals in as many minutes... That's going to be remembered as the period that we won Scully + Butcher... :D

Next year?? what a load of crock!! You dont muck with a winning culture - you either have it or you dont. You cant flick it on like a bloody light switch - it takes time - we have started this culture this year, must keep going with it.

A 2 goal loss?? You go tell that to the players after they have busted their asses for the past 2 hours!

Btw - the boys have to keep strong here with the eagles kicking on a bit. We must dig deep!!!!

I was ready to praise Grimes again, then he fluffed that kick and cost us a goal... still having a good game though! :D

And Bennell, that boy has class written all over him. He's the second coming of Davey.

Let's hope Rivers and Frawley are good to go against Hawthorn, or that will turn into one ugly game.

2 guys off injured + heaps of running + young legs = spirited loss. Great effort guys, sad we were so cruelled by injury early. We look great when we're up and going.

On another note;

When is Petterd going to stop getting a free ride. Has about the same output as Isaac Weetra. Does nothing week after week, compare him to Maric or Bennel, he just is not natural at finding the footy.

We look knackered at the end of that quarter.

And who could blame them? PJ has been run into the ground. After holding his own against the best big man in the comp, sounds like he's stuffed now.

Given that we're at Subi, have as many injuries as we do, and are playing as young as we are, with only one ruckman in the side, I'm impressed...

By the way, we're winning the disposals comfortably, and we have nearly twice the tackles... Wow.

Some tired play at the end of that quarter. Not sure we will have the legs in the last.

Bennel looking great. Jones going well and morton and davey should take every kick in!!!

PJ is doing really well in the ruck also martin lurks very well.

Dunn getting smashed by hunter, and again didn't go back hard enough and the eagles player marked.

Have to be close to a record number of disposals for PJ!!! 18 to 3Qtr time

Whats with macca?? Just 7 possies

Please don't try and tell me we already have a winning culture!! Perhaps you should check out the results section on the AFL website for the games we have played this year just in case.

Can YOU and all your followers put your emotions and instant gratification aside and have a F$%*g look at the BIG PICTURE for a change...and even to Dean Bailey (in last weeks press conference) where he said "we are still building the list". Personally I would prefer to build 'the list' with the BEST possible players not the 'also rans'.

Before you reply with some emotionally driven dribble ask yourself this question.

Would you prefer to finish the season with a win at Subiaco oval or the first TWO picks in the National Draft? ......I know which one will do more for the future of the club... do you?

Go Dees - Building for the Future.

It has all come down to disposal and decision making today. Too many times we work so hard to win the football and we just turn it over again and again. It's either going forward and missing targets, or kicks coming out of the backline!! Once we eliminate these we will start winning football games on a regular basis. Until then, however, we will always struggle!

We have worked very hard today though, I'm just holding out for the day when it "clicks"!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
