Haven't heard anything.....one of the nominated captains could be asking for a re-count!

Fwiw, the majority of Demonologists are also favouring McLean, with Green getting a few nominations as well....pretty much follows the same line with the above poll.

I wonder if we'll collectively get it spot on? Ie. McLean - Captain, Green - V Capt.

I tried that by clicking on join but it is just a blank background

a slick hiccup on joining demonology. Tim who looks after this area, has not been well for some time....patience please, keep eye out, it will be announced when Tim is back on board. Thanks

To be honest, i think the club might be looking for something different to the supporters at this stage of the captaincy debate. Most here want the club to show it has balls, and back a player that has great ability but is injury prone, has in the last 12 month been in the papers for off-field problems, and has relatively shown very little to be considered as a captain. We basically all see that he has it in him, but it's not definite yet as to whether he'll get there.

Now if they chose Bruce it would be for reasons such as this:

- He is one of the hardest trainers, and is very vocal with his teammates during the drills

- He has proven media capabilities and keeps his nerve when asked difficult questions

- Despite some peoples opinion of him here, he is one of, if not our best player (probably a good reflection of where we're at!)

- He has had experience as captain

- He works his ass off during the games

- He's never been in the news for off-filed issues

Now those are just some of the reasons, and if i really thought about it i could come up with plenty more. Just for the record though, i want Brock McLean as captain, My only concern with him is injuries, if he gets that right i have no doubt that he'll be the player we all want him to be. The club is at a crossroads, and putting him up the front as the leader sends a strong message to the competition that we aren't going to take the "safe" route anymore.

Unfortunately i think the club will make something like this:

C: Bruce

Co-VC: McLean

Co-VC: Green

Well, with respect to injuries, I recall Greg Healy, Garry Lyon and on occassions in his last couple of years David Neitz spending time on the sidelines whilst Captain. If Brock is injured, then Green or Bruce or McDonald can fill the void for that time being.

Like you, I hope Brock can be Captain. You may be right with your thoughts on what the club might do.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
