2005 MFC Home Games:

Friday Nights: 3 (V Geel, Adel, Rich)

Saturday: 3 ( V Freo, WCE, St.K)

Saturday Nights: 4 (Ess, Bris, Syd, WB)

Sunday: 0

Monday: 1 (Coll)

Free to air: 17 games

Foxtel: 5 game

2009 Home games:

Friday nights: 0

Saturday: 2

Saturday Night: 0

Sunday: 8

Monday: 1

Yeah, & where is all the money we made from that coverage.

Why are we almost broke then?

I think if you look at the 2005 fixture we were on shocking run home of games.

Rd 12 we played Collingwood at the G then 4 days break later in Rd 13 play the eventual GFs at the MCG. Great.

We then played the following games: Gabba, AAMI, Docklands (Sydney), Subiaco, MCG (StK),AAMI, Skilled.

I could not think of a worse draw than the above.

Because we made the finals in 2004, and represented one of few Victorian teams who could challenge the interstaters. I wouldn't have thought that would take much mulling over BBP.

Not really a question I was posing, more of a statement of how things have changed dramatically over 4 years.

In 2005 we didn't have one Sunday home game, hosted 7 night games and were on free to air nearly every week.

Hopefully, when we eventually improve, we'll be rewarded with a much more marketable home schedule.

That is true Rhino from a footy point of view, but it's hard to believe the AFL were generous enough to give us 3 Friday night and 4 saturday night games. Great for the gate takings I would've thought.

The boys wouldn't of trained much that week, surely. That certainly was ridiculous and a big oversight by the AFL. The players Assoc. would be up in arms today.
