Never do business in Cranbourne

A few people have scoffed at the notion that footballers might not want to travel an hour to training. Fair point. Don't ignore the choice factor though. If you were a banker and there were 9 banks in Melbourne, would you choose to work for the one furthest from your home over the others?

Pants, I did exactly that because I was given opportunities that were superior to the other 'banks' I'd seen. So I travelled 50 min to and from work every day for 3.5 years and it barely bothered me. I eventually left the job but the decision to do that had nothing to do with tie taken driving my car to work.

Any wonder we have such a bad reputation as a club. You have to wonder if they could get the lunch orders right let alone inter business contracts !!

This statement is probably spot on until the current board stepped in. The new board that Stynes has assembled has some very good business brains in it. The current board is looking at the club's position as a whole, not as a bunch of disjointed parts that we have been for so long. I'm all for the summer move to casey but let's get it right. Remember that the club is deep in talks with the AFL and the MCG and we don't really know all the details. I'm guessing that once one thing gets signed off, several will, and the club will get what it needs and the benefits will flow. This all takes time and careful consideration. The consequences of a wrong move here are not worth thinking about.

Roost It , what you say is essentialy quite correct, especially the one thing leads to flow on effects.

what concerns myself and many is...whats all of a sudden so hard about this deal. It was all but done, everyone was happy.

Apparently there was/is some consternation about geting it more like a 10 x 10 x 10 as opposed to one 30 year hit. But you would have to think this is a small hiccup, something a lunch meeting would overcome. So it seems to me there is more to all this than anyone is letting on about

What many are talking of is the 600G community effort, again you would have to thik this isnt a big deal. its not like we are spending any real money, its all relative value. These are things any forward thinking club would be championing anyway. I fail to see this is the real stumbling block.

So what has REALLY brought this thing to a grinding halt..or rather WHO is bringing this to the point of collapse ?

Were not talking Millions of dollars here..nor are we talkig our central home, its really a side show to the whole Melbounre Circus, a sort of summer holiday house.

And all these brillaint business brains are stuggling with the lunch order !! great isnt it !!

This is what we don't and can't know. I'm putting faith in the new board to make the best decision for the club. I still think your probably being a bit dramatic with the "point of collapse" talk. Interesting times, sure beats reading about the cricket!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
