No1 wants to play for Melb...

Great selling point for much needed sponsors.

The last time we finished bottom in 1997, we were able to attract Jeff White and almost got Peter Matera.

Well done to the football department.

So let's retrack a few predictions:

Yze Magic

Melbourne send Brad Green and pick 51 to Collingwood in exchange for pick 29 and Ben Reid. WRONG

Robbie Warnock will not get to Carlton, and will come to the Demons in the PSD. WRONG

O'Keefe to Hawthorn , pick 16 to Essendon, Andrew Lovett and pick 23 to Sydney. WRONG

Brent Prismall to the Bombers for a 3rd rounder. RIGHT, BUT HARDLY A UNIQUE PREDICTION.

West Coast to send Ashley Hansen to the Bulldogs for a 2nd rounder. WRONG

Nudge

Mark Seaby appears almost a certain demon unless Warnock can somehow slip through. WRONG.

Trade of pick 1 for 2, with the eagles adding in a late pick, and the proviso that the Eagles take Naitanui with the no.1 pick, leaving Watts for the dees. WRONG.

It now appears more likely by the day that Green may just move on. WRONG.

Chris Johnson appears likely to be traded back to WA. WRONG

Ryan O'keefe ... has been made the subject of a big play by the Bulldogs, the mail is that they may have their man this time. WRONG

Other players that may be looking for a new home are: Ashley Hansen, Brent Reilly, Farren Ray, Sam Butler, Leigh Fisher, Kane Tenace, Ed Barlow, Jason Davenport, Brad Fisher and Mitch Clarke. FARREN RAY WAS RIGHT ... 1/10

The demons are being reported to have made a formal offer for Power defender Greg Bentley, word around is he WILL be at MFC next year. WRONG

Bell to the crows along with 51 for pick in return for pick 28. WRONG

The demons are the clear front runners for Prismall. WRONG

Maric Legend

Brad Green will re-sign for whatever we were offering him. RIGHT, but ALWAYS LIKELY.

Robbie Warnock comes to the Dees for pick 19. WRONG

Seaby goes to Richmond for something. WRONG

Prismall goes to the PSD. WRONG

Don't think O'Keefe will end up leaving. RIGHT, but ALWAYS LIKELY.

Deetention

Several clubs are reported to be keen on Brad Green. NOT KEEN ENOUGH APPARENTLY ... He didn't leave.

Package him with an Aaron Davey or Green, Bell and Pick 19 and I believe that will get us Pick 4. WRONG

Brent Prismall is almost certain to move and is likely to be a Demon ... Kangaroos the only other club to be keen in his services. WRONG

Richmond is likely to give West Coast a 2nd round pick for Seaby. WRONG

O'keefe is favoured to go to Essendon. Sydney likely too land Lovett, but also keen on Stanton. WRONG.

Hope when all the "inside mail" predictions from "people with contacts" come out next year, this thread is brought up as a reminder.

Just so were clear, I hope your not putting me in the group of "people with contacts", I was just having a punt on what might happen.

Im 16 and live in Adelaide...

They should have gone out and done some riduculous trades for trades sake.

We almost got Matera just like we almost got Warnock, Judd etc.

When Chris Connolly comes out and says that Warnock and Prismall didn't want to come to the club, it's obvious that we seriously targeted these players, and what we offered were better deals than what Freo and Geelong ultimately accepted.

Neil Balme also made that point that Geelong wasn't happy with what they got, but did the right thing by the kid. This suggests that we had a better offer, but Prismall wanted to go to Essendon.

If you think that pick 35 for Prismall and pick 19 for Warnock are ridiculous trades, you've got no idea. But I've always thought that anyway.

Just a lesson, yet another one.

Before you start putting trade picks you have to ascertain that the players concerned actually want to play for you. Neither Prismall nor Warnock wanted to play for MFC. Basic but you missed it nothing new.

And I am not sure that either are proven players that I am going to shed to tears or offer very long contracts on big money.

Anyway name the sponsors that cash their chips on trade week.

Just another pathetic whinge without any substance.

Dementia has set it. Chris Judd to Carlton. Say no more.

Chris Judd is a player and not a sponsor and if you check your facts or indeed actually get some you will find that MFC were never in the hunt for Judd and his tyre kicking was a front. He was going to Carlton all along and despite best efforts MFC were not a show.

Come on name the sponsors that act on trade week Mo. Another case of put up and I bet you wont as usual.

Say no more.

Is that a promise?

I thought you'd be too thick to understand. If you don't think that Chris Judd going to Carlton didn't attract more corporate sponsorship for the Blues, you are just a plain ignoramous.

Why do you think that Paul McNamee was so keen to get Jonathon Brown?

:lol::lol::lol:

You trade to improve your list not attract sponsors.

And you would have backed Macca's plan? I bet you would. Given you pillared Hansen as too old for a CHF position. Its no wonder Macca found himself on the outer with that deal.

Maybe they recruited Chris Judd to play football.

So on your own snivelling intelligence which player traded this week would have been a sponsorship coup?

Its no wonder you get pantsed by various posters on this site for your silly and thoughtless comments.

This is by far more entertaining than trade week.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
