ESSENDON has emerged as the front-runner to secure the services of out-of-contract Geelong midfielder Brent Prismall.

It is understood the Bombers are the preferred destination of the midfielder, who has asked to be traded after struggling to be a regular senior player in the Cats' side.

Wants to go there. What is it with all these money hungry little s hits who want all the best clubs. What a load of crap every club struggles at some point, who can forget Geelong three years ago. I am sick of Melbourne tryiung to trade with players who seem interested and then go cold because another club comes along.

Surely it's his choice.

Why should he have to come to Melbourne if he doesn't want to?

That's not what I said. Players who show interest and then just because some other club comes along who mind you has only had one year of mild success they all of a sudden want to go with them. We shall stick it right up any player who chooses not to come here in a few years when we are back on top somewhere and then they can see the poor choice they made.

Once again, this is where being MFC with no money or identity hurts us. Young, good footballers all wanting to be anywhere BUT MFC.

So there should be a shotgun rule in trading?

Not necessarily its just sad that in two years we have gone from playing finals to having absolutely nothin. No money no identity and no chance of securing players like Prismall who lets face it isnt a superstar. Very good talent and if he was to join Melbourne I would be rapt but it seems no players are willilng to give us a chance to get back to where we belong. FFS even bloody Fremantle are gettting players rather than us and they have only made the finals once in their existance.

I'm getting pretty sick of people abusing players based on what they read in the paper. Tingles, take it with a grain of salt mate. At least until he or his manager comes out and states something as fact.

All these people telling Brad Green where to go are going to have to swallow their pride when he is still in the Red & the Blue at the end of the week.

I understand that mate but let's be honest it is more than likely true because no one likes Melbourne atm. Btw I live in Tassie atm and there was nothing in the papers it was quoted on www.realfooty.com.au

............... but it seems no players are willing to give us a chance to get back to where we belong.

Sob Sob Sob.

Don't blame other players (in this case Prismall) from other clubs for wanting to achieve what they want (ie a Premiership), or if they want to secure their future on a better financial wicket (ie Essendon).

Blame those responsible for the current position we find ourselves in. Ie In 16th position with a wooden spoon and our current list.

Seriously, it's OK, he's an allright footballer, but not worth getting upset about, you want loyalty, then go the draft for kids.

Well said Fork......

Prismall owes us nothing (never has, never will) and if he thinks he will be better off at the Bombers then who the hell are we to criticise.

Honestly its his life and his future that he has to worry, not about the feelings of a club that has nothing to do with him.

And as for Green, well my opinion on this is clear, but I only want him traded for the absolute best we can get not just because he hasn't signed yet.

Because you know what at the end of the day only he and the club know what is truly going on in that negotiation, and while we all rise and fall with the MFC a player still has the right to try to figure out what is best for him and for his future, and he should be able to do this without condemnation and abuse from us.

And you would think a player who has never had any connection to us (except in our own heads, wish lists and rumour files) could get the same consideration,

but that has always been a little to much to ask at this time of year.

He probably didn't get hassled by a nuff nuff Essendon supporter at the pub, asking him where he will be playing next year. B)

Well said, both of you. Players move where they feel they will fit in and get the best results, it's early days of trade week, and although he may have nominated Essendon as his choice, we could give Geelong the best result for them so we are still in the hunt.

We just have to make ourselves more marketable, and if it's to do with money and TPtB feel it's too much then i trust that they are doing what's best for the club. I'm not going to bad mouth Green because nothing is certain, if he wants to go then so be it, i won't be happy about it but we have to move on and try to get the best result from it.

Frankly if he has a club of choice he'd better get moving or he won't get his prefered destination, and if he opts to go into the PSD, knowing the situation the club is in then he will have lost all respect i had for him. He of all people should realise that we need picks for the future, and he owes us the chance to get them.

Prismal on the other hand owes us nothing, neither does Warnock for that matter.

Putting aside your obvious bias, would you want to play for us?

Give me a single good reason why you would choose this club over ANY of the others if you had the choice?

Hey mate, dont believe evrything that comes out in the press.

Absolutely spot on!

But the rumour is that Essendon are offering him more $$$

Precisely. If we offered him more than Essendon then chances are he would play for us if we could orchestrate a suitable trade.

Precisely. It's our fault for players not wanting to come to our club. Not theirs.

LOL @ Essendon being one of the best clubs.

I think it reasonable that a player would be interested in multiple clubs. I mean, it is their playing future at steak.

Its looking more and more like Essendon because of Geelong want Lovett.

Besides, why would a player be desperate to come to Melbourne. Were a freaking basket case!

Doesn't really bother me to much, Prismall's a decent player but no star or anything. Besides the odds are a trade wont get reached in regards to either him, Warnock or Ray anyway which would mean we can still get them in the PSD.
