1. Captain - Brock Mclean Why? Because he is a natural and plays with big balls. Drafted him partialy for his leadership. Dont keep him hangin. This is the time! Act now!

2. Pick 1. I am not convinced on the Watts boy as Pick 1. Tyrone Vickery is the 1. Thats me!

By ruling out Watts. It allows the Demon's too be unpredictable. Thats were we over rate Pick 1. So we will trade it!

Here it goes;

I believe Melbourne and Fremantle can play hard ball with Carlton.

Melbourne - Pick 3 and 6 (Watts and Vickery) Keep the team mates together. Still have PS Pick 1 up sleeve. Pick 24.

Fremantle - Pick 1 (Rich or NikNat? It's their choice)

Carlton - R. Warnock and either Green, Sylvia, M. Warnock, Bate etc. What will get that deal done? Pick 19.

Possible trade of 3rd or 4th round picks to satisfy deals.

If Carlton do not agree!

Melbourne - Pick 3 and Warnock slips to PSD to us. (We take Vickery with 3 or possibly Watts)

Fremantle - Pick 1 and improved 3rd round pick from Melbourne or possible player.

Carlton - F**k All! Keep their Pick 6. (If we dont take Vickery. Carlton will!)

You might say why would we get two ruckmen. Warnock and Vickery. I look at Vickery as more a Full Forward/Ruck option. In that order. We would be hoping for the first option without Warnock. But can work with both.

F**k this! Lets just suck Carlton in for there pick 6. I dont want Warnock. Overarated for so little.

3. Trade Bell (Melb) for Thomson (Port). I like Bell but have others to take his place. Rate Thomson as starting midfielder.

Fremantle aren't going to give up Warnock and pick 3 just to get pick 1. There are enough very good players for them to get one at pick 3 AND get something decent for Warnock as well. At worst, Carlton will offer their second round pick and a player. You need to remember Freo have a LOT of holes to fill, trading out more than we get back is not going to work.

Yeah, slightly ridiculous proposal.

Freo wouldn't touch it. A lot of people on here seem to way overestimate Freo's desire to have the number one pick.

The people that traded for Tarrant & Solomon are gone, they've learnt their lesson, they're not that stupid anymore.

WON'T HAPPEN.

I'd prefer to NOT have the number 1 pick - firstly, it's a lot of pressure on the recruiters to get it right and secondly the pressure on the player is enormous. Given that Naitanui is so highly rated yet still has some massive holes in his game, I'm almost hoping that he's gone before Freo get a pick.

Oh, the Solomon trade really wasn't that bad either. Sure, Essendon did well with the picks they got, but they were both late picks so who knows what Freo would have taken. He's been a very, very good player for Fremanlte despite the opinions of a lot of people in the East.

I think it's less of a concern now than what it used to be. The last half dozen #1 picks have lived up to the hype. I doubt if Freo had the first pick they'd use it on Naita if they didn't think it was a dead certainty that he'd be a 200 gamer.

I'm interested to know what you think Warnock might be worth. There's lots of conflicting stories over in the East about whether he's nominated a preference yet... having said that if he does nominate Carlton it won't come as a shock, but this isn't 2007 and he's not Chris Judd. Warnock wants to come East, he wants a contract for X amount of dollars for Y amount of years and he's also stated he wants Freo to be compensated fairly. If he picks us that makes it a lot harder for Freo to achieve an equitable outcome given our position in the PSD, if he picks someone else, we're still in a pretty strong position if we want him badly enough to possibly satisfy Freo's demands ahead of his preferred destination.

And they've gone to ..... MELBOURNE!

Let's hope that they have learned.

I doubt Connolly made that decision all on his own... Or Schwab for that matter... but yeah, pretty scary, isn't it?

I think Bailey has too much sense and when he's spoken he's been adamant that is not the way he intends to bring this club back to prominence

Smoking Crack is bad MMMMMMKAY!

Why these trades will not work. Carltank have too many aces up their sleeves, and will work something out.

It's very hard to really determine what he's worth, given most of it is simply on potential and not on what he has produced. If you compare him to Aaron Sandilands at the same age, he is light years ahead, but whether he ever improves to that extent or not remains to be seen. I'd be reasonably happy to get Carlton's 2nd round pick and a young player, but I still think they'd be getting a bargain. If they offered up pick 6, then I'd be packing Robbie's bags and driving him to the airport myself.

Not so. A player must agree to a trade. the only way we can get him without us being his preferred team is if he goes into the PSD and we agree to his demands. But then, what team wants to have a player who doesn't want to be there. (remember the Lions and Buckley?)

Wrong! This rule only applies in the first year of a contract.

you keep telling us to pick Vickery, you seem to be the only one... you a mate of his or something? care to outline why ? forgive me if you have somewhere and I missed it, but i'm interested why you mention this guy in every 2nd post yet no one else rates him as highly...

i rate him. but not as good as watts

i'd want him at dees to!!! but we dont have another pick inside top 10, so i'm afraid we won't. which is why would should be trading anyone over 24 who is out of contract to try and get picks. blokes like dunn, bartram, CJ, Sylvia

Dont tell me they wont get top 20 draft picks..cos they will if you trade them as packages

Yeah! I do. I have mentioned his strengths in a previous blog. I think everybody else seems too have the blinkers on and jumps on the band wagon of Watts. I have no doubt Watts will be a good player! But I believe Vickery is the 1. I would consider trading Pick 1 to say a Freo in a package which included other clubs to get that other top 10 pick we really need. I think that could be achievable. I would rather 2 top 10 picks than pick 1!

Not so. That's why the Judd trade last year was in jeopardy until Kennedy agreed to his trade (Carltank to WEagles). Players cannot be made to go to another team. Hawthorn wanted Ryan Ferguson a few years back, but he wouldn't go. ;)

Stop reminding me. We were offered Sewell and he was happy to come across.

Nope it was Fergs who didn't want to go.

Heavens, I didn't know that side of it.

So Sewell wanted to leave a crap team, and Fergs didn't want to leave a good side!:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

firstly we wont get 2 top 10 picks so forget that dream and secondly doubt the top people in the know who have rated Watts far ahead of Vickery have their blinkers on.

However you claim to have an eye for football talent maybe you have a calling in the making as a recruiter, lets see how your prediction comes along

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
