We get to choose clash jumper

Featured Replies

.......

If we say that there are 16 clash jumpers (Two for Brisbane but none for Collingwood), that is 8 out of 16 that are not white based.

The statement that the AFL mandates that club jumpers must be white (or grey) based is a myth. It simply is not true. We CAN have red as the main colour, we just have to have the balls to demand it.

A couple of years ago our clash jumper was red - so unless the rules have changed, we could go that way again.

I prefer the demon jumper, but I really like the demon with the M logo the best - they should have used that one.

Gee guys way to shoot me down, I did say when it came to Melbourne. There was an article in the age early this year saying the AFL said no to any red version of a clash jumper we submitted. I am on your side here, whatever crap the AFL have come up with as a reasoning I don't know.

Anyhoo...........voting closed at 5.00pm tonight has anyone heard what poor excuse of a Melbourne guernsey we will be wearing?

Well, jimmy said that the voting was 50 50 tonight, and we had a crowd vote... The cheers were equally loud.

Jimmy simply said "we'll take that on board" and while i left not too much longer after that, no announcement was made.

out of interest

did they actually have a real copy of the jumpers?

and which one looks better in real life if that is the case?

anything else of interest from the function?

Hmm..call me cynical...sceptical...even late for dinner but the mathematical probablility that after thousands of votes that the result is line ball pushes credibility into the realm of credulity !!

This has I suspect been an exercise only...to gauge reactions and trends. a 50/50 result easily creates an out for either another design or none to be forthcoming.

I think people...we've been had !! ;)

I didn't see any actual guernseys, i'm guessing they would have brought out one should a clear choice have been made.

If they did make a decision later, i'm happy to be corrected!

To me and my wife standing up the back. A was clearly louder. It will be A no doubt about it.

While the cheers sounded the same, the chatter about the Demon logo lasted longer than the chatter about the MFC logo.

The Demon is back!

Too bad the Demon looks like a Fairy

i think the problem with the red jumper is that the a couple of the teams we 'clash' with have red. essendon, sydney fremantle and apparently st kilda. (carlton we clash with but dont have red). by increasing the red we could make the clash worse. HOWEVER, imo by adding white, we clash worse with st kilda and sydney.

Melbourne's normal jumper doesn't clash with Sydney, so there isn't a problem there.

Essendon's clash jumper will clash more with Melbourne than their normal one does.

TA was clearly favoured by a bit of a margin although not double.

Reasonable possibility that a couple of other alternatives may hev got highter vote:

© The former clash jumper - red with the demon logo - OK for all except Essendon

(D) None of the above

The 2008 clash jumper - used against Saints to ensure clashed ( perhaps thats the purpose??)

would have come last! the alternatives they offered in the members survey for that one were teal and white as the 3rd colour and everyone ticked silver or white as least awful.

Asking us to choose between 2 insipid alternatives is not quite getting to choose what sort of clash jumpers the members will be happy with!

BTW all the predominantly white clash strips for all the clubs are insipid and unattractive!

To be quite frank, there was no apparent clash in the 2000 Grand Final. Nothing was said. And it went International. It's a cop out. Keep it as it is.

Its all BullSh!t.

I hope you're right bub: maybe this was an exercise to see how many people care about the jumper and whether the demon is worth bringing back. Let's hope it ends up being red...

I'd like to see this one (although the MFC insignia wouldn't get a run there - sponsor placement).

I think this one is also better than Option B:

This is from caddypgt over at Demonology.

I like that one from caddypgt at Demonology. Rogue is it a white back? Or Red Back?

Playing around with the blue emblem on a red jumper idea.

We've been made to have white as our "clash" colour.

The AFL doesnt say we have to have white...we have to have "light "...apparently they just neglect to enhance enliightenment on that concept <_<

If you go up a few posts I've put the Essendon clash jumper in for comparison. Now which one is lighter?

I didnt say what the AFL said made any sense !!

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
