After 9 years of below par performances, the entire Physio Department has been told their contract will not be extended beyond 2008.

In short, they have been sacked.

I'm not sure if any of you remember this, but i called for this last year after our continual spate of injuries, year after year.

Well finally my wishes have come true.

From what i have been told, the way we have previously selected the Physio Department is through tender, meaning we put it out to the company that wants to do it the cheapest.

Doesn't necessarily get us the best in the business now does it!

Apparently Chris Connolly is bringing on board some ex-Fremantle Physio to lead the new department.

Hopefully its not another "job for mates" gig.

An official public announcement on the above is to be made soon.

Hopefully we can finally get someone to get the bodies of Moloney Silvia Brock Rivers Davey and co in shape and consistently on the park.

On the topic of Sylvia, I have it from one person deep in the MFC sanctum that he is the most competitive player on our list and it absolutely tears him up more than anyone when we loose. He really takes it to heart and hates loosing.

For the record, Sylvia's body is a slow work in progress; he still has ongoing issues with his body. To this date he still hasn't done a full preseason that we would all want him to do, purely because his body can't cope with the demands.

However i have confidence that each year his endurance will slowly improve to the point that we should have a very good player on our hands by the time our playing group moves into the next window of opportunity.

Therefore we need patience from our supporters and allow him the time to improve incrementally, as the dividends will pay off in the long term.

All this talk of trading Sylvia is nonsense, as we will not get anywhere what he is worth. Best to just watch this investment slowly mature.

i blame the physical preperations manager for this sort of thing

we have used the melbourne physio group for a long time and we have only had major injury problems in the last couple of years with new physical and fitness trainers

i have been going to this physio group and have been to a lot of physios in the last couple of years with various problems and they are by far the best physios i have been too

i dont think they are doing a bad job

You don't have to be a genius to work that one out.

The whole physical preparation team needs to be changed.

Half the team was missing injured last night, the other half about 10 kilograms short of what's required and they can't run faster than their heavier oppenents.

Should have been ditched before McNamee IMO.

Dear All,

Please refrain from abuse and making threats on Demonland.

We get the point that you don't like Tess, Haydo but please stick to the subject matter. And Tess, please no personal abuse.

Haydo, thanks for the information you supplied and we'll watch this space with interest.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
