Actually I expect more from someone with so much talent.

and for me this is the problem. he is being judged overly harsh because he has latent ability that is unfulfilled.

sylvia has loads of talent, is judged harshly but at least people want to keep giving him another chance.

brad millers season average for goals reads something like this:

2002 0

2003 .1

2004 .6

2005 .3

2006 .3

2007 .6

2008 1.3

he wasnt improving but he got to 100 games. juice has played 13. in brad millers first season he got a total of 6 disposals no goals in 4 games. in millers second season he play 16 games, for 1 goal ad an average of 7.7 disposals.

Miller has played a bit down back and no one ever said he would be a KPP who kicks bags of goals.

over his career brad miller average 1.3 tackles per game. this season he is average 1.5. and miller gets the benefit of running around the ground contesting the footy, not waiting for the mids to deliver it to him.

miller has played a bit down back. not regularly until 2006 however. so the argument is invalid.

and whats the point of a KPF who cant kick a bag of goals? i am at a loss. he might gets lots of it, but doesnt use it, and its not like his delivery into the forward 50 has been getting us goals. the only reason he has had a goal season this year is because he has kicked goals the last 5 weeks.

Your averages for a forward are invalid. Whilst he was down back, he wasnt kicking goals. So why show figures with his poor goal kicking record when he was clearly in the backline.

The point is he leads up past the forward 50. He's the only one (with the exception of maybe Bate) who can do it.

he was playing both ends of the ground. not just a backman.

leading past the forward 50 is well and good. but its no good if you cant kick goals and your job is to be a CHF. brown leads out of the 50, but kicks goals. pavlich plays everywhere, and kicks goals. franklin leads out as well, and kicks lots of goals.

and dont tell me you consider bate a KPF?

Its just a Miller specific role that we will have to get used of until we bring in a real KPF.

No, just a good mark across Half Forward.

I've been a strong supporter of the club's policy of pushing youth into the team at the expense of the older group who won't play a part in the club's next assault on a flag. At the same time however, we also have to appreciate that most young players in their first, second and even third seasons tend to tire after a long, hard season. With so many young players in the side last week we fell away badly after half time at Subiaco.

For that reason, I think it's time to start bringing some of the more experienced players into the team and resting a few of our younger players. That sort of management might be helpful in ensuring that our younger players develop at an appropriate rate rather than succumb to some of the injuries that tend to plague them if they're overworked in their formative seasons.

On the basis of their form at Sandy, I'd give Nathan Carroll and Adem Yze a go this week.

I have to agree with you there. I'd reckon some of the younger players in the team could use a break.

On the basis of their form at Sandy, I'd give Nathan Carroll and Adem Yze a go this week.

Well I guess we know DB isn't going to pick them for any reason other than their form, so I'd say if they were ever going to get a game, now would be the most likely.

He did. You dont take an unfit emergency half way across Australia where you have no back up if one of your 22 is not fit to front for the game. Petterd and Holland were easily covered by others.

Conversely none of your arguments are strong why Junior should necessary continue. David Neitz was Captain for the start of the year and was past it ...sadly. Yze, Robbo were voted leaders by the players at the start of the year. You'd wonder why! Neither are a leader's bootlace.

As much I love Junior, he has struggled this year and I dont think he is the type to milk the Club for a final pension contract.

You still not talking to me Rhino? Any further comments re James McDonald?

    It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.
