Another inept poster who completely misses the point - kudos to all those who had a real laugh at the post and took it with a grain of salt, something that poor old Before2Long can't comprehend. instead of maligning the name of a Paul Kelly classic as your username, why not use one from the Wiggles that best describes your standing, 'Wake Up Jeff!'

IT'S ONLY A RUMOUR!!!!!!!!!

Ease up now Jumbo, I don't mean to be personally attacking you, something you seem quite comfortable doing to me.

All I have done is kept record of those who have in one way or another attempted to validate the rumour at least in some part to be something resembling the truth, and I do so with tongue in cheek.

I actually love these kinds of rumours like this gem you have supplied, it allows me to drift into a fantasy world where Judd, Kerr and J Brown play for us, where we have all the supporters and money we could ever ask for, where essendon plays their home games in Canberra to cover their losses....

I guess I just thought there needed to be some accountability for rumours such as these, hence the list. One that I will bump in a few months time (if I remember) or when the $20mil cheque clears (though I am sure you'll beat me to it).

Which makes me think...

If you were confident in the rumour's authenticity you would be quite content to see this list being made, but seeing as you've gone and got all defensive about it I guess it means you know that it is a load of B/S.

Ahh well, nice to dream anyway.

Ok no problem.

PS I'm technically inept so I have no idea how to bump it to the top if it comes to fruition.

aahhhh this has gone no where?

no surprise i guess...

although having glanced over this thread before the brisbane game, and caught up in the emotion afterwards, i was curiously excited to see jimmy walking round the ground with his arm round a small indian tycoon...

however it was just Aussie's old man

oh well...

My thoughts too, while still not believing the rumour ;)

I think any sponsorship/donations will be announced on the 10th during the Debt Demolition Campaign. If there was a large donation in the wings it would blow away any other possible contributions and so it wouldn't be the first announced, not that it is likely to be true anyway of course

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
