Was an amazing night... I really can't put into words how incredible it was, and it is something I will never ever forget. I'm only a young bloke, so it was an real eye-opener for me... a classy night out for me prior to last night was a visit to the local pub for a chicken parma. :lol:

The part's that stood out the most for me was Paul Gardner's speech... impressed me a lot and kicked the night off well (I didn't really rate him prior to the night). Garry Lyon's speech was from the heart... the way he got all the current players to stand up at their seats, so as everyone could see them, and then tell them how EVERYONE is 100% behind them during this tough time was really inspiring and should serve as good motivation for them tomorrow and beyond.

The video package for the players who died at war was incredible... I'll admit, I had the lump in the throat and tears building up. Having never been to an ANZAC match or parade before, it was something I will never forget. That video and the last post is the memory from the night that will stick with me the most I think.

I say i was there and didn't feel it much from him. Maybe he did feel it, but he didn't exactly express that to the crowd. Maybe he just didn't want to.

First time back at the club since retirement and has been six years too long - D Schwarz. Maybe that is just the way David expresses his feelings. I have no doubt though that he loves the club

Don't get me wrong, i hope he loves the club and i hope to see a lot more of him.

Just that when he was on stage, i thought he'd say something of his own time, but only interviewed Robbie Flower.

Then about half hour later i went into the foyeur and he was interviewing Neita for TV.

All previous posts have pretty much summed the night up. What struck me was how friendly everyone was, current/past players were bombarded with autograph and photo requests (plenty from me) and all were done in a generous fashion. I sat near Brent Maloney and he had much pride when standing along with the current playing group and an article in Tuesdays Herald Sun covered this well. As a WA based supporter/member it was a rare moment to be involved with the club i follow with great passion and to be amongst the people I admire and respect was one of those genuine life highlight experience's.

    REDEEMING by Meggs

    It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill.     Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either.
