A boutique ground at Casey - the vision

my information came from a casey councillor , face to face, one on one. so you can take that any way you like, also not all councillors are in favour of the motion to spend that money on an elite sport and will vote against the motion when it comes up.

Fortunately local government seems to work on majority rules. So, if the majority supports the MFC proposal, it will get up. My sources tell me MFC's got the support of the majority.

Honestly, i really can't wait to get the club involved in Casey.

I think for too long we have lost out by not having a location, and it has hurt our club dearly.

Look at the Western Bulldogs, always regarded a poor club, has just unveiled a new $25mil facility because of their intrinsic links to the community. The western bulldogs ARE the region. Every weekly bulletin in the Mail, the local paper, carries stories of the Dogs and often front page ones at that.

Our membership is low, i believe, because there is no conglomeration of Melbourne supporters. We are spread far and wide and i think this has hurt us in becomming a force in the Membership stakes.

I'd love to see us attack the Casey idea, hopefully backed by some good onfield performaces, because i think it will benefit our club immensely long term and hopefully it will snowball back into the Melbourne district.

So I guess this whole moving to Casey thing is the MFC's way of saying to the MCC "Thanks for nothing"?

How?

We might play 1 or 2 home games a year away from the MCG. So what? We already sell games interstate as it is.

We don't train at the 'G.

Can't see how it changes our MCC relationship in the slightest.

As an afterthought, Casey Scorp might have more knowledge of this, but would it be a good idea if the dees bought a pub near the area as well? If its such a growing area, you always need a good pub.

Doesn't have to be as Melbourne focussed as the Leighoak, but could be a place to watch us play, join supporters together etc.

Also, maybe we should set up a supporters group down there so people can jump on board

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
