  1. I see the AFL king pins are all at Werribee Mansion for a love in to discuss equalisation and the state of the game. I would love to be staying down there tonight to witness the hard work being done. What do you reckon is going on now, a giant AFL payed for nosh up and pizz up? Are you expecting some bold resolutions to be agreed upon for equalisation to put to the Commission of Drones any time soon? I suspect we will see zilch on equalisation but a few options to unclog the game. But we do know there will be gallons of top shelf plonk knocked off tonight and paid for by the paying public.
  2. Where has all the talent gone?
  3. Oh dear beat me to it BBO. I have got a fit of the giggles, got to go.
  4. Isn't he captain of a prawn trawler up north, Exmouth or Derby somewhere?
  5. Root and branch it will not be that is for sure. It will be wait and see until our attention is diverted somewhere else and then a half arsed review report will be tabled with numerous actions for further consideration, of course to be reviewed in the fullness of time. Sir Humphrey would be proud.
  6. Anyone else expecting a physical response from the Hawks next week? Clarke seemed very aggro at his presser after the game. I am hoping to see a few coat hangers and flying elbows from the usual suspects, perhaps the odd lifted knee as well. And a raft of suspensions would be great.
  7. Mathematically can we make it?
  8. DL need a bit more detail because all you have said is that the bottom 8 sides will have access to the bottom 8 picks but now based on luck not on how they ended in the ladder. Umh that is not going to help things much. My thoughts are the first 10 picks go to the bottom clubs in order of failure as is now. But then the next 8 picks to make up the first round could be raffled appropriately to provide a leg up but not promote tanking! Which we all agree has never happened, wink, wink.
  9. BBO that is a very profound statement from you. I am impressed most likely because I agree.
  10. Guys just thought I would let you know I am in the back room again for episode 3 of Byzantium while others waste their time watching The Voice!!! Believe it or not. Hopefully The Voice ends sometime very soon. However happily I am still riding high from yesterday so I can handle being in exile in my own house.
  11. Ssshhh Saint do want us to get investigated for Draft tampering. You know it only takes a slip of the tongue, a loose comment on the couch for the AFL to look our way. And the AFL would love a diversion at the moment.
  12. Yes I think in a round about way you are saying what I said. Yes the AFL have painted themselves into a corner on PP's. But only if they are held to any account for consistency and fairness. No garrantee on that. The AFL Commission are a joke and don't register on anyone's radar.
  13. Maybe turn that upside down and it is spot on. Vince BOG surely!
  14. I agree with PJ's logic but I also agree with the idea that teams struggling at the bottom need draft help. It will be interesting to see how the AFL handle this. I suspect they will get pick 2 for Luenberger as a leg up just as we got pick 3 for Frawley. They don't give PP anymore just over compo for FA's perhaps. Twisted logic in my opinion but that is the AFL. There ain't too many rational thinkers amongst the administration and we know the Commission is full of unthinking drones pulling a stipend for nodding yes when asked to by Gill or Evans that is if they are actually awake.
  15. Chris Dawes was on the money when he said the Hawks were vulnerable some weeks ago! And to think many on here scoffed at his comments at the time!
  16. Shocking holding the ball against the Tiges for a gimme goal to Gunston! Prior opportunity really and it could have been deemed high for that matter.
  17. Fair enough Willmoy, Daintree is a long way from here. By the way last time I was there a local told me everyone has a tree python living in their roof, have you got one in your roof? Or was he taking the pizz on a dumb southerner?
  18. Agree Rjay if we play him, play him out of the square. I once put forward the idea he could lead out looking for a chest mark on the run or bring the ball to ground a la Darren Bennett in the 90's. But of course modern footy dictates that the full forward is more likely to be found at half back chasing someone when we get the ball and then look forward to an empty forward 50 and then kick sideways.
  19. I know The Prince has struggled lately but against his old side he could turn it on.
  20. Well if we are practicing midfield clearances it doesn't show in games. I don't see any system at centre bounces. The top sides seem to do it easily with time and space to get the ball moving forward more often than their opposition. If we worked on and improved our centre clearances and then worked out some kick out strategies that got the ball moving out of defence quickly who knows we might win a few more games. Oh and instruct some forwards to stay in the forward half.
  21. Ascobar you have missed all the real excitement you could have stayed in Addis to see Obama's visit!
  22. Gee a f log I wish we had had at our club for the past 10 years! Great player, great athlete, great ambassador, great role model for football!
  23. I was taking that into account Rjay having read your earlier posts, thus my reference to their older players. I counted Bob Murphy, Morris but who else? My thinking is they don't have a heap of mature aged champions leading their kids forward. Some of their kids have matured quickly perhaps but I believe their offensive game plan is making them very competitive at the moment.
  24. Whoops good point. But my point is who do the Dogs have as senior players who are setting them up for their success? They seem to have drafted well by picking who was there at the time, while we have been trading early picks in search of mature, proven mids. I am still hanging out or a midfield.
  25. The Bulldogs are flying, yet we beat them some weeks ago. They are looking at top four, probably won't get there but gee statistically they are a chance. They have some great older players, their captain playing off half back comes to mind but who else, Farren Rae? Morris, who else? They have some good young midfielders but why are they so far ahead of us? One thought to me is their coach comes from the Dawks and he has gone straight into the offensive game plan and it seems to be working in the short term anyway. Whereas we are working on defence and it is taking us for ever it seems. Is it about the players you have or the way they play?
