  1. Let me just say I am aghast! That I would have anything to do with undies, really!
  2. For me it is for all our players to lead into space in front or sideways of our ball carrier. So often we get a turn over in our back half and our player is looking for options to go forward and he sees nothing so has to put the long one in up the line to a contest. To me if everyone leads into space, if I am the ball carrier, I am confident I can kick forward 15 to 25 metres to a target and run on and perhaps get the overlap happening. And a quick pass to a leading forward.
  3. I was at that game and the Saints problem was we had Neitz and Robbo who kicked 14 between them I think. Those were the great days of footy, fast, free flowing, one on one battles and great forwards kicking goals. Was that before interchanges were introduced?
  4. DC I don't get your drift. Wrecker asked a question I gave him my answer, my thoughts on the issue of boat people which if you hadn't noticed has consumed the political debate of this nation for the past 10 years far beyond what it should. So I deem it worthy to have an opinion. My opinion doesn't consume a lot of my life because it is built into my core values. But yes I do spend perhaps too much time arguing my opinions on forums like this that have no impact. Malcolm Frasier worked all this Shyte out early on and implemented a plan that worked for the Vietnamese diaspora. The same plan could have worked for the latest wave of refugees but John Howard chose a different path with Tampa for political reasons. We all live with that outcome today and the refugees much more so. I still manage to have a life because I just find it interesting to follow the political thrust and parry. Oh and by the way as to your reponse to one of DPositive's comments above, yes he may seem to be a zealot and myself no doubt, in comparison to your what? Relativism? Determination never to commit to a policy?
  5. Whoops he was OK but not twice I agree. Meant to get Jones in there.
  6. Hey Guys Sad to say I am back here again in the cold back room watching episode 2 of Byzantium while SWMBO and assorted female relatives and friends watch that abomination The Voice! Why do they think I am a grump? Just because the Dees have been thumped and I have been dispatched to the back room. Oh and the city has just fallen in case you never knew!
  7. 30 odd possessions at 80% efficiency. Yes he struggled at times but tell who would not when we don't work as a unit. Today was Everyman for himself but Grimes had a go, he tried, yes he failed at times but he kept presenting from what I saw on TV. There are others who don't present when needed as is so evident by our static play.
  8. Viney Gawn Howe Grimes Howe Watts
  9. Sir WYL I agree about the skills, some horrible clangers but watching the second half I kept thinking we looked like some representative side cobbled together for a one off match, that is there are some footballers with talent there who know what to do with the ball but no obvious game plan and no understanding of each others skills or movements. We are not working as a unit in any way or form. Players or coaching? Damned if I know or care anymore.
  10. Trouble is I think we have been at step 1 or 2 since 2012!
  11. Great game at the end. Glad to hear Josh Gibson talk about getting the defensive job done with Lakey etc. God how fricking easy is it down back for the Dawks. But gee this is great or footy. The VFL did us in after 1950's domination when they bought in zoning in 1965. What do the AfL do about the Dawks? They have out done our era of domination. They need to be nobbled for the greater good of the comp. Gee I note even channel 7 are using Harlem Globe Trotter music reviewing one of their plays. The whole league is a circus perhaps?
  12. Not sure who you think is under rating Lewis! I agree people get focused on Hodge, Mitchell or Rioli for very good reason but Lewis has always been pivotal for their side. Let's get this straight the Dawks have good players everywhere but their greatness is built around six players, Roughy, Mitchell, Hodge, Lewis, and?
  13. Fitzgerald is training as a defender, doing well apparently at VFl level, played as a defender t AfL level and did well when he got the chance.
  14. Adam I am not watching but I don't find it funny at all. The Blues are being belted just like we were but the rebuild you are talking about most likely wont happen inside 10 years. How do you rebuild off the odd early draft pick to breach the gap the top sides now have? The trouble is they keep improving at the same rate you might because they are pulling in free agents and other out of contract guns looking for the easy ride to AFL glory that more than match your young gun recruits. Anyway I notice that there are 99,000 people at the Gee tonight to watch a soccer match. AFL be very worried, if you are not already.
  15. Wrecker I can live with that policy as long as it is aligned with a regional agreement for the countries involved to process genuine refugees in a timely manner and agree for each to take their share. As Malcolm Frasier did in the 70's and advocated for years until his death. As for Bill he is trying to neutralise a festering problem for Labour and clear the decks to have a straight out environmental and social fairness battle with Tony for the next election which he believes will come early next year. Some observers are convinced Tony will pull the trigger before the next budget because he simply has no policies for the economy now and things may very well get much worse in the next year. It is a big gamble by Bill, if he gets rolled on this he may have to stand aside. I personally could live with Albo or Tanya The cost of unilateral turn backs of course is to earn the ire of Indonesia. We have already had some executions and recently seen beef exports go bust big time. But interesting there has been no blow back on the Libs from the Tabloids as opposed to what Julia copped when the live exports were suspended due to allegations of cruelty etc exposed on TV.
  16. Now our Bron has been accused of signing off on her costs for attending Sophie Mirrabella's wedding as political business expenses. Well I think she is in good company, every liberal MP there tried that one on.
  17. Tuned into tonight's game and must say in contrast to the above I am enjoying the contest, free flowing game, skills on full display from both sides and yes the scoring is a bit one sided but this is still a great spectacle. And I must say I really loved Ronaldo's goal for Madrid to go 2 up, football at its best.
  18. Is on the Footy Show yet again. They love a baby faced footy guest it seems.
  19. Wrecker there ain't no hiutus or hiatus. Each year is hotter than the last, year on year since 2000. It is getting hotter not cooler. And that is a problem for us all.
  20. DeeOF please tell me where are you driving from? I assume you are driving in a fairly straight line from a long way away and not driving in circles locally. Just checking!
  21. I think it is all symbolic Moonie and ominous. I would be wearing a cricket box in bed tonight myself but I know BBO is tougher than moi!
  22. What if we got rid of rotations all together and just like soccer we had instead 4 or more substitutes, where the game started in the first place with the 19 and 20th men. When did we introduce interchange? What was that decision based on and it seems that the decision makers had little idea of where that decision would lead the game. It has been transformational. One of the main differences of our game was its positional, and 360 degree nature versus the off side rule games like soccer and rugby that dictate players face each other and there are no fixed playing positions except the goalie is soccer. Let's trash the interchange I say.
  23. Robert why stop at 1878 in your time machine? Think Mangrook footy pre 1788 played with a stuffed possum skin between tribes of men kicking and jumping over each other over unlimited distances with no strategies and no objectives. Now that was fast open footy at its best long before Tom Wills got his hands on it and introduced tactics that have now evolved into flooding then the ugly mauls we see today.
