  1. I have to say Deefrog that I do not have a limp nor do I have a hipster bicycle. I do have a mountain bike, a GTV Avalanche model that was stolen by darstardly criminals earlier this year. The CCTV showed a hipster taking my bike who could be serving you coffee as we speak. They do all look similar. But the good news is our boys in blue came through. I got my bike back although it was very altered to the point I had trouble identifying it.
  2. Re Essendon Remember we will be playing the Bombers coming off the Darwin game. We may not recover sufficiently to play 4 quarters. Why the Darwin game is not scheduled just prior to the bye I don't understand.
  3. Great day Jazza once I found out we had won I knew you would be wrapped as you said you were going. For me I was driving home this arvo from the Surf Coast but had banned all radio communications in the car as I expected carnage. My wife kept checking the scores and telling me I would be pleased with the score but I forebode all comment on scores. I refused to countermand my orders on the grounds that if we tuned in that would lead to an avalanche of Cat goals. Anyway got home knowing we must have won because the missus couldn't keep the smirk off her face (she was checking AFL.com on her phone). Anyway I believe my tactics worked a treat because if I had have listened in at half time we would have lost for sure. By the way I have been trying to get onto BBO but he left a voice message that he was going outside with his whip and would be away for a while! Any idea what he means?
  4. Stringer is the best player we have seen according to channel 7 since ummh ohnyes Thursday night and Cyril's few cameos. Supetlative overload at 7. Gee I hope they interview the package post game!
  5. Re Carlton I am expecting Griggs to get 3 plus weeks for that sling tackle on Grey. It wasn't even a Trengove type sling it was much worse and the impact much worse. If that is not sited the AFL are a joke. I am also calling that Mitchell should be sited for lifting his knee into Tex and taking him out. Reckless, high impact? Not sure on the rules but I remember doing it myself once to protect myself instinctively without thinking. i knew I was in the wrong and all hell broke loose when I took out the guy coming at me. It is one of those don't do's.
  6. Gee quiet on here tonight! Just got back from a get together with some old footy club mates at the Great Northern in Carlton. Great night but gee we are not the men we once were. Several guys called it quits by 10 claiming they were a bit tired! Would not have happened in our halcyon days. Half the table were Hawks fans, one involved with the Dawks was adamant they had Dangerfield lined up, been working on him for two years. At which point I said if you bastards get Dangermouse, that is it I am giving up AFL to follow the local footy.
  7. OD have you ever tried bananas instead? They can do wonders. Just ask Deefrog.
  8. Jazza I understand that there is this new Jurassic World on this island full of recreated dinosaurs acting for people's entertainment. Apparently the company has created a hybrid dinosaur more energetic than your run of the mill T Rex. But all the controls are in place. So what could possibly go wrong? Can't see how they kept the story going really to produce yet another movie. Next thing you will tell me is that somehow, something got loose. Hard to believe.
  9. Strewth are we cursed? Play a game loose 2, play a game loose 2 more. At this rate we won't be able to field a side. What shytes me is this not a one off, it happens year on year. We don't have depth so we seem to be always playing at around 60% of our potential. No wonder we struggle to get off the bottom rungs. And what has Hunt done? The kid has been injured for two years.
  10. Another game another major injury. A great run we are having this season but it is much like many of our past seasons. I could cop this if the top sides were having similar injury runs but I never see that but perhaps by definition top sides are those with few injuries. However the top sides are the same ones that have been around for far too long.
  11. Pretty well spot on BBO and I was there. Only change for me might be Viney in for perhaps for Gawn.
  12. RTG where have you been?
  13. But it was the 28 minutes of the last quarter tht didn't help. All 18 MFC players in our back half defending. We need better playing set ups.
  14. Wasn't it a third quarter blinder 14 possessions at 100% efficiency? He will be getting a tag at that rate.
  15. My worry is about keeping some of these kids. They have what it takes but they won't tick around past their next contracts if we don't get our act together and start winning games.
  16. Chook the thing that killed us again today was the number of clean defensive marks taken by the Saints in our forward 50. It killed us last week and again this week. From where I was watching I saw Garlett nearby ready to pounce on a spilled ball but they aren't happening enough on top of a side that barely equals the oppositions inside 50 count in a game. Is this where Dawes can add some value in just getting to marking contests and brining it down for at least a 50/50. Our defensive efforts inside our own 50 are putrid. Unless it goes straight to Hogan we struggle.
  17. Won't be many left to take the field then. Today was riddled with errors and some dumb stuff. You have to forgive the newbies but the senior lot made some real clangers. But so to did the Saints. It was a good game to watch between two even sides but it did demonstrate where we both sit in the pecking order, well off the pace. But one thing to remember is we had 6 or 7 of our best 25 out while theSaints had one I think.
  18. Ironic that we spent 95% of the last quarter with 18 guys in our back half. Then we snaffle a goal with 40 seconds left and setup at the next bounce with a normal structure? WTF! The call had to come from the coaching box to the runners to get ready before Howe had even kicked the goal.
  19. He is still growing? Taller does he mean?
  20. Some player's papers have been stamped. Only injuries will give them another chance and the way we are travelling I wouldn't give up yet.
  21. The relatively poor injury situation goes back beyond Misson. Maybe 2000 was the last time we had near zero injuries?
  22. BB are you inferring a return of MFC "not tanking" behaviour? Not selecting the best team available I mean.
  23. Thank you for your thoughts BBO. I have heard very little from those who I once counted as so called friends. Of course one does not seek higher honours nor does one necessarily expect that one's exhausting works on behalf of the less privileged would be recognised at least in the form of a so called Gong! Oh no there is no recognition for my tireless promotion on behalf of local, grass roots communities of the benefits of brown coal, coal seam gas and the dangers of wind turbine syndrome and don't start me on fluoridation and its affects on our precious bodily fluids for that matter. I know one ought not complain about one's station in life but when you have for example a Professor Abbott OAM (any relation I wonder) recognised by HRM for his works for dentistry well I rest my case. Where I ask is the justice?
