same,underrated coach. was told yarran nothing but forward pocket and turned him into attacking hbf. took waite from back to forward. played mitch robinson when everybody said was no good. wanted him as our coach, especially when he admitted after being a blue since 16 yo,he probably was to close to players.

watching this unfold,i came to the conclusion that a corkie doesnt normally get worse,{unless its cooled down}and PR was probably looking to keep the tall option open as long as possible.dunny also had a minor corkie,. he was probably hoping that the game would be still won and played 95% in the midfeild and mac could have at least played a minor roll and give the coach another option in midfield if he stayed out there long enough. also mentioned elsewhere,kept the oppo less than 90 points,that was what we got him for{pr}werent as far out of this game as others have suggested.

and he did his normal coaching job of keeping the oppo to less than 90 points. we havent been able to do that with our best 22,let alone an average 22 with 3 injured.

as i said earlier. we handballed away from pack situations the best ive seen in 6 years. PR will sort out our bald headed mid who doesnt use first option and tries to take on the impossible at times in traffic. we were down 3 talls with injury. we missed too many easy shots. the turnover kings were much better than last year. and i will take beating for this but everybody has over stated the value of trenners and grimes.they are gravediggers and when the list gets a couple of talls back,we will see the improvement. definately looked at the positives and not the negatives last night,and i thought he used trenners and grimes in their about spots.

it was worse watching the sprays.good leaders dont do those things. some people made the comment the spring went out of our step after awhile,i agree with this ,but in the first game of the year a lot of teams seem to run out of gas early,it is common and most coaches/players cant explain why. im very confident of what the new team ethos is and will support it to get enough wins to keep us all happy. dont be first round sourpusses,things are getting better.

pederson is a list filler and was there to fill about 3 vacant places we have. thought he did his best for the type of delivery thrown towards him. no complaints. gawn,wont be playing unless fit and can obey the new team rules.i like that.

yeah agree with that. for the first time in years our clearance handball from packs went more than 3 metres,and it looked very good. swicth over play seemed much better and we hardly got into the lock down phase. looking forward i thought our play was better than its ever been{6 years}and the PR style showed out. doesnt help when mac,dunn,fitz all cop injuries and we also are covering,garland,hogan,jamar and mitch. really good effort and terlich didnt turn over as many possies as he normally does. midfield clearance from packs,very good. learning to give the pill to the better deliverers will be another step. all in all,i was rapt driving home with good thoughts about the expected style the coach has bought to the club. looking forward to a good year.i wouldnt knock,pederson and dunn ,they filled holes and thats what listed players are meant to do,its just unfortunate that we had so many better listed players out.
