Whole lotta TOOL TOOLS

I'd like to take him if we can grab him. If we're able to reach 2018 form, he might discover a desire to succeed to match his talent. If not, I'm all for driving up his price as high as possible with threats to take him in the the PSD. The more Carlton have to fork out the better.

Poll: Who do you want with our first two picks?
Roger Mellie replied to furious d's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think Weightman will make the grade and be a solid to good player, but pretty sure I would cringe if we take him and Kemp's still sitting there. -
Agree, I was on the same flight as Brisbane last year. Was amazed how puny Lewis Taylor was. The there was Stefan the Giant
-
Also carried a knee injury for at least the second half of the season, so full preseason and fitness might see big inroads.
-
Wont they need their 2020 first rounder for yet another academy player?
-
Big Pass. I wonder if the crows would welcome him with open arms given the number of players headed out the door.

I think it’s naive to think every draftee should be afl ready. I only saw his televised games and it clearly showed he wasn’t even vfl ready. He slowly improved through the year and clearly showed glimpses of talent- speed, tackling ability and most importantly, a desire to succeed. If he works hard, he’ll continue to improve so way too early to write him off. Like many players, he’ll be a slower developer and may need to again adapt to afl level, but may hit the grade in two years if we have that time luxury.

IMO the less we have to deal with Freo, the better. I’d like to get the Langdon deal done and not have to put up with any of their [censored]. Their St Kilda demands are pathetic. They did a similar thing to us last year as what Saints are doing to them with their early pick. Total hypocrisy
-
Yes, I was going to put a qualifier in there about dealing with Freo, but Mahoney sounded fairly positive as opposed to last year when his frustration was more than apparent, given Bell's antics.

Also discussions for trade going well ?

Langdon has officially nominated MFC - Phew! From Josh Mahoney

If he was at the pie B&F last night, I hope he was hungover, reeked of booze and parked a pavement pizza in Fagan's office.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON

Sometimes you just have to reduce things down to tin tacks: MFC List: In: Tomlinson Out JFK Draft picks - nil -
Ripping bloke and I wish him all the best.

List changes who do we cut, trade or go after.

I would have to disagree with this. Stretch played exclusively as an inside mid at Casey and would get a call-up to the seniors and be plonked on the wing or half back line or wherever there was a hole. Regardless of his ability or lack thereof, it's going to be damn hard to stake your claim on that basis. If he was going to play on the wing in the seniors, when we were crying out for wingers, why not let him play there at Casey to give him the chance to slot right in? The main issue is his total inability to play on 'at all cost'. I have no idea why, as when it's a play on situation he has no problem at all and routinely finds an option. When he takes a mark or gets a free kick, he pretty much freezes. Not sure why but wouldn't be surprised if it's -
Good luck to him if he chooses to go there. They would find his training standards and professionalism very desirable.

Nah, worse than that is when footy journos (using the term loosely) start calling each other superstars. Andy Maher is first up against the wall.

Narrative - I swear I barely heard that word 3 years ago! An oldy but a goody - Laconic. Makes my blood boil. I don't give a toss that the meaning of words might change over time. It's just annoying that it changes from misuse. Jack Watts is not laconic, Jeff Garlett is! Look up the meaning Huddo, DerWayne etc etc

You need great endurance to play on the wing. Frost doesn't have it. It's improved but more in the below average category.
-
Has a good burst of speed
-
Elliot thanks. It would be fine to keep Frost but Elliot would damage the opposition if fit. Frost could damage us and/or the opposition.
-
You're right. He doesn't rate too badly. They have a stat for Defensive contested losses as a percentage of one on ones and his is 36%. Room for improvement as a KD. Contested Defensive Losses is pretty much all KDs and the 'winners' in this category include both excellent and average KDs. Phil Davis and Daniel Talia are up there as well as players such as Jack Homsch (sp) who would have been bombarded all year. Time to edit my post to reflect this (just attempted to and cant access the earlier post for some reason. So, for now, the misinformation stands)

I reckon Frost's disposal has improved markedly and despite the odd howler, it's not his biggest problem. The issue is giving away goals through brain farts, being (way) out of position, poor contesting with the incoming ball, giving away free kicks (often repeatedly with far too late tackles or just wtf moments). He's just not a natural footballer but has improved markedly and gives his all. His speed was a godsend in our plodding backline (with May mostly out of the side) and Frostball (if he hits his target) can work as neither side has a clue what he's going to do. Facts: Ranked 8th in the league for intercept possessions 25th for spoils Intercept marks 38th (ahead of Hore but behind Gawn) Turnovers 205th Clangers 75th Here's the killer - Contested Defensive losses 7th I'd love to keep him if there's no decent trade offers because he'll keep on improving. Prefer him ahead of Omac (another plodder)

They have no reason to be annoyed when that's exactly what they did with Hogan, time and time again.
