As our (home) preseason game, we should be playing in Gippsland, showcasing our Gippy boys. Having 4 regional games in one town is bizarre. AFL are dumb as dog****!

I would have been happy to have Mick for another ten years. I've never seen a coach get the players so invested as he does (including the men's comp). I certainly understand his need to move on and desire to end the Anglesea-Casey run. I wouldn't have lasted one year doing that. I wouldn't be surprised if the club had offered him a role with the men's team and I know he's worked with them in the women's off-season in the past. Best of luck to him! He will be sadly missed.

I don't see him as a defender and hope he gets shifted to wing / half forward. While his defending has improved, he does very little with the pill when he gets it. Typically, he will bomb it down the line and turn it over. We need this to be the last resort, not the first. A change in position will give him the opportunity to get off the endangered list.

I wasn't able to watch the game but listened in on the ABC app. Wonderful effort by the girls and shattering for them. Before Liv Purcell did her knee I thought we were a massive chance this year. For most of the game I thought they could go all the way the way they played. Not to be sadly. Notwithstanding this, a great year for them with big growth in the games of so many players. On the ABC coverage, they mentioned Zanker was off to WA (to my horror). Can anyone elaborate? Thanks

Definitely worth the punt and lots to like - clean hands and speed from the contest for a big dude, plus dual-sided. Would've liked to see some tackling in those highlights and a contested mark or two.

Looking at his (brief) highlights, I think there's a smattering of Darcy Jones in there too, with his speed and tenacity.

I was speaking to a Geelong nut on the weekend and he claimed we (Kingy) pinched the social media guy from the Cats. He also claimed that Geelong's social media presence/form was second only to GWS. I can't verify this, but have no reason to doubt it. He even gave me the name. It went in one ear and rocketed out the other.
