The AFL are treating us with contempt
The AFL are purely revenue driven. They will keep delivering prime time fixtures and crowd pulling games to the bigger clubs. How many years have we watched Essendon and Carlton being given prime time games when they were utter [censored]? They continually trot out the excuse that the number of clubs in the comp doesn't permit a fair draw and use that as a license to do whatever they want. Until they decide bring fairness into the equation this will continue. It's just reality. Interestingly. Round 1 Geelong v Freo at Kardinia drew a crowd of 25K. That's truly pathetic and would be a real worry for the club 🙂

PREGAME: Rd 03 vs Gold Coast
Out: Howes, Jeffo, Woey In: Hore, Johnson, Langford Happy for Sharp to go out if Windsor is fit and I'm open to bringing in Campbell but note he will make us slower again. I didn't mind Fullerton's game at Casey (only as a KPF) but Adams was back to being invisible. Sestan had excellent ball use but didn't often find the pill.

2025 MRO & Tribunal
Wasn't he subbed out with concussion?

2025 MRO & Tribunal
A bit like Kozzie, Moore slipped and he made contact. Having said that, he (Koz) elected to bump and Moore got concussion. I don't think three weeks was warranted for either. Both were clearly accidents caused by the oppo player.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Fremantle
Windsor is still some way off learning to defend. I still don't see Howes as a defender. Adams did some nice things and made some errors. Bowey had a stinker (defensively and offensively) - I hope he was just blowing the cobwebs out. I hope Petty's ok as we could have swung him forward today. He looked a bit sore last week so hopefully just rested. Not a good game from Chandler. Quiet games from Langford, Sharp with Lindsay improving as the game went on. A good game from Max but beaten up. I like Sparrow as a defensive forward early in the game. Happy with Billings around the ground game - he's upped the pressure and intent. I'd be singing his praises if he'd kicked even a couple of goals. A classic 'between the ears' goal (point) kicker. Welcome back Clarry and Trac!

CASEY: Practice Match vs Sandringham
Interesting that he played down back. Perhaps it's in response to the loss of AMW and to a lesser extent McVee. Thanks for the report DeeV

Ed Langdon the (Inside) Midfielder
Rubbish! When we played Richmond last year Dusty was said to have uttered "[censored] me! That bloke (Windsor) looks 12 years old" I'll take Dusty's word for it and leave him out of the centre for now.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 7th February 2025
Great read @Gator - thoroughly enjoyable. A couple of questions: How was Langdon at the CB's. Do you think he was just a fill in or may spend a bit of time there during the season? Where and how did Sparrow play? Good to hear Howes played well. I assume he played as a tall, given three tall forwards in the blue team. Who was he on, if you happened to notice? Thanks

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025
Perhaps the kid is undecided about pursuing footy and doesn't want any attention while he figures it out. Or, the club just wanted a look at him with no pressure attached.

David King’s Preseason Training Observations
I wouldn't say Cornes was nice in that segment, but at least he didn't cut loose.

Dangerfield Wants Shorter Quarters
I'd want shorter quarters too if I was his age. I recall he was pushing for this following the reduction in quarters during COVID. In some ways it's quite a reasonable request. Players are saddled with extra games now and it's too physically taxing to expect players to back up week after week, month after month. Something has to give. An extra bye might be an option.

MFC Nicknames 2025
It definitely started as singular. When he was on the G & G Podcast they called him Knuckle. Now he must have the added bonus of an 's'

The Go Home Factor
I thought he left because he wanted more midfield minutes and wasn't getting it at the dogs and wasn't likely to with their midfield lineup and his [censored] kicking.
