At least he will be able to keep his fitness up. I think he is an interesting one - I see him as similar to Garland a couple years ago. Just needs to improve that kicking and decision making and he could be a very good player.

Do we have a offseason injury list? McDonald set to mist start of preseason with shoulder: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2013-09-11/mcdonald-set-to-miss-start-of-preseason
-
If Roos wants him I want him! (simple as that)
-
Agreed The stress fracture at the start of the year may still be effecting him but otherwise I think people are looking for an excuse. I hope he does have some kind of fixable injury but if he did wouldn't we have heard about it through one of demonlands many sources. Garry Lyon told the public about Frawley carrying an injury - I think if there was something wrong making it public it would ease the pressure on Jack.

So does this show that we have had Roos lined up for a while or have the MFC just worked quickly? Does it say anything about him becoming the forward coach or could he become our development coach. Is this guy highly regarded? Good work PJ (and Roos) keep it up.
-
Are you sure it works like that? The MFC website said: "The club will need to pay Craig out for the final year of his contract." Hopefully Craig will say a no pay out is needed as he knows where the club is at plus it seemed to be a mutual agreement before the appointment: "Roos told Fox Footy's On the Couch he had been told that the club and Craig had agreed that if the former Crows coach did not get the senior job, he would happily move on."
-
I hope he is not! The guy needs a break from football (12 straight years as coach must be very taxing). We need someone still reasonably young with fire in their belly (Scott Burns/Simpson?)

Senior assistant to be named soon: Roos http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2013-09-10/senior-assistant-to-be-named-soon-roos Roos said keeping Jack Watts and Colin Sylvia remained high on the list of priorities. He said the decision on the senior assistant role was likely to be made before Watts had to make a call on whether he was staying at Melbourne.
-
Damn - Thanks Craig I wish we would stop paying out contracts!

I was sad to see some go and wish they hadn't but don't really want any back. Gysberts - pretty upset that Neeld showed him the door Moloney - again Neelds fault Rivers - see above
-
Not just delivery but also the fact that - Clark Dawes and Hogan have been injured/VFL (We have never had more than one of those players in our a team) Get them all on the field and get some ready to go mifielders (instead of Boyd) and see how they go. Add Watts, Howe and a small forward (Barry/Kent/Blease or trade)
-
Yep - thats why I think Taggert could slip into the team come round 1. Is 188cm tall and about 90kg. Good player but just lacks the tank for the midfield. (hasn't had a full preseason yet)
-
I think we already have 1 too many talls and if we got Boyd we would need to trade 1 or 2. We won't get to much for trading one of our talls either. I doubt GWS would pass on Boyd (maybe trade pick tho) but GWS already has a good midfield in the making so don't need Aish. I think we have to trade if we get pick 1 - there is high demand for Boyd and we will get good value - as Roos said maybe 1-2 good mids. But then again I dont think the AFL will give us pick 1 - probably pick 3 or an end of round pick 19. You said it above - we have a good backline and forward. We need to inject some young but A grade mids into the side and that might be hard to do with pick 19 or 20. We need a Marc Murphy or Taylor Adams not another C grader.

I like Taggert - could be in the team come round 1 (big preseason for him) -

Jetta has been pretty good - may just save him (depends if he gets another game to show he is worth keeping) Love his pressure, spread and kicking -
And who knows if we drafted him he could have turned out like Cale Morton

MELBOURNE B: Clisby Frawley Garland HB: Grimes McDonald Strauss C: Watts Jones Toumpas HF: Sylvia Dawes Kent F: Clark Hogan Howe R: Gawn Trengrove Viney I/C: Fitzy, Tapscott, Taggert, Evans I think that's the list that we should play because it has the most potential going forward. Taggert, Toumpas and Kent get a spot for development more than form. Barry and Blease have ???? over their heads. Kent has overtaken Blease. Hope we get some good mids to come in!

And preferable something that will look good on a jumper .... not webjet

Peter Jackson you are the balls of this club! You are this clubs testosterone! Even if you leave in the next 1-2 years you will always be a demon messiah. Thanks PJ!
-
Yer he just said he would trade those picks if there is anything good put on the table and I agree 100% We can't develop kids when we have no leaders - lets get guaranteed talent who can have an immediate impact and help develop our youth for years to come. We need Swallow, Adams - those types
-
Could we steal Burns from West Coast? .....(evil laugh) Ling from channel 7? Leigh Tudor from Sydney? Who else? This is our chance to get the best coaching panel in the league! No need to put all our eggs in the one basket. We will rule the world!!!!
-
I sense great power in him - sign we must!
-
The longer we can have a successor under Roos - the more they can learn (not just from Roos but also about the team)
-
Voss is a possibility if he is ready to learn and still has the enthusiasm.

Comfortable he is! Work he must do!
