  1. So was it skill or culture for the back to back losses that ultimately cost us finals last year?
  2. When Geelong won three flags in five years there were lots of player interviews at the time where players talked about capping their potential earnings in order to keep the core group together, for some reason 500k comes to mind. I don’t remember reading/hearing anything about the Hawks. Richmond seems to have Riewoldt, Lynch, Cotchin and Dusty on big coin then daylight second. They also had Rance who reportedly signed a massive deal before walking away from the game. Both models work in terms of list management whilst in the mist of a dynasty. Do we honestly think Oliver and Petracca will sign four to five year deals for 500k when they are both worth so much more. After the contract to Brown, Viney, Gawn and Lever who do we you think is going to miss out? We need to remember that also coming out of contract this year is Jetta and Hibberd with TMac and Melksham in 2022. There’s a lot of money tied up in those four that is going to be freed up.
  3. I think this year we will see the best of Lever. We know he’s not a key defender so I’m not sure why you referenced that? We may have initially payed overs for him to get him here but I’d like to think his new contract is more modest. The role he plays has it’s place and if played right can be quite effective. Out of interest which key defenders across the league have elite disposal?
  4. Lever might’ve peaked?
  5. Is that what the Richmond model looks like?
  6. Have tomorrow off so was already up and about then this, very excited and looking forward to Gawn dominating from round one.
  7. Yes he probably would be but I like to think we could comfortably put all of last years bottom six away.
  8. Sorry, North. Neil Crompton feared my bet might jinx us. I listed lasted seasons bottom six teams as I can’t see North beating any of them, hence the bet.
  9. Bottom 6 teams of last year were Bombers, Suns, Hawks, Swans, Crows and North, going to be to interesting . Should we lose to them, that alone would nearly be the end of Goodwin.
  10. I’m going to put $100 on North not winning a game for the year. There’s no market as yet but when I ring up they’ll give me one. I can’t see who’ll they’ll beat. I know it’s never happened before but there’s a first time for everything.
  11. Currently paying $6.50 on Sportsbet.
  12. He’s had his payday and would be aware of that, we’ve had years to plan Oliver and Petracca.
  13. Harmes in some people’s teams, out of others. That aside I’m curious to see how his year plays out.
  14. Thanks to Picket and others that have shared their thoughts of training over the last few weeks. Your efforts are greatly appreciated by many. Cheers
  15. Essendon’s game could be at the G on Saturday night and it’s scheduled time of 19:45, our game would not have to be affected. But as earlier mentioned it sets a dangerous precedent, so stuff them.
  16. And today this from the club.... “Join one of our premium match day experiences + guarantee your spot at the MCG when footy returns to the MCG” That was followed by two comments, both from members, one along the lines off “how about looking after the faithful that have stuck by this club first”. I did screenshot it at the time because FB has a history of when I go out and come back in everything is shuffled around, but I couldn’t find it even by going to the clubs page, so maybe it was an add. The club clearly is more interested in targeting its wealthier members to make more money. I’m still waiting for my correct membership card to arrive, I’ve already rang up once and will be ringing up again today.
  17. I agee but I’m just highlighting the stupidity of it all, for me it’s all or nothing. Today Gladys (who with the exception of the Ruby Princess disaster) has done a good job) has announced up to two hundred people are allowed at weddings but only thirty can be on the dance floor. It’s just stupid....
  18. I’m pretty sure it was the NSW Premier being interviewed before the SCG test match versus India a few months ago. She was being asked to justify the expected crowd numbers whilst other restrictions were still in place around the state. She went on to say that they had protocols in place to ensure social distancing. Then a reporter asked what happens when multiple patrons touch the same turnstile, the same handrail, the same door, the same tap. If Melbourne can get back to no cases for the month leading into rd one then open it back up to full capacity and let’s get on with it.
  19. I don’t but as for the “scarf is ok wearers”, the amount of times I’ve sat in the Redlegs and as the goals pile on against us and another loss is inevitable they (the men) take off their scarfs, fold them up and give them to their wife’s to put into their handbags. The stairwell behind the level 2 members area is another popular spot for this behaviour.
  20. Wool flashback scarf $65 AFLW 2020 Media Polo $69.99 Mens 2020 Media Polo $90 AFLW 2020 Woman’s crew jumper $74.99 Men’s 2020 Men’s training tee $85 These are just some of the items i looked at which I think are overpriced. I bought a training top for around $70 a few years ago, nice top but wasn’t worth $70 then and definitely isn’t worth $85 now. I prefer the old VFL logo and the club rarely sells any merchandise with it these days, found a scarf and they want $65. I’ve bought most of my apparel in recent years either online from other stores. This is poor form considering most of us kept our membership even though we couldn’t attend a game to help the club out. I understand the club is a business, but if you lowered the prices by a quarter or a third would you not increase your sales improving the bottom line. I earn good money but a lot of families couldn’t afford to pay these prices, maybe the club thinks these prices are acceptable due to all the recent success we’ve had.
  21. If Melksham doesn’t perform early a change needs to be made. I would personally like Hunt to remain up fwd.
  22. Surely one of our recruits over the last three years could push ANB out of our best 22.
  23. I just joined, coach : Al team : NORTHWONTWINAGAME I noticed you have some spots left, my friend would be keen to join. He’s not on Demonland and he’s a Swans supporter but other than that....
  24. Evening DeeVoted, I can’t remember last years team name, (might have been Bombay Air??)but my friend Max and I both played in the lower league last year. We’re both happy to go around again either in that league or the one above. Thanks
