  1. Obviously not the way anyone wanted his career to end. I loved the way he went about it, all the best in the future B.V.
  2. Perceived value. He’s a 50 goal a season player who’s yet to hit his prime, he’s arguably the best young forward in the comp, a contested footy beast. He’s easily worth 1-1.2 million a year. Three tall forwards isn’t sustainable IMO.
  3. The amount of money will be the end of the story IMO.
  4. For his last contract Hogan held all cards, the go home factor and his potential was there for all to see. No one is doubting he he has talent, the debate hinges on how much, and is that talent good enough to impact big games. There are two sides to this discussion, those that continually state how many goals he’s kicked, marks he’s taken and then those that point out that they are largely against sides which won’t be playing next week. Those that say “imagine how much we would of beaten the Eagels by if Hogan was playing” and those that thought his absence would actually strengthened our chances of winning because of our teams dynamics changing. Our victories this year against Eagles/GWS this year and Crows/Eagles last year are surely more than just a coincidence. Obviously that doesn’t mean we win every game Hogan’s not in the side but it’s something we as supporters and footy department are fully aware of. Why is it that our midfield which apparently is largely to blame when Hogan plays poorly is so instrumental in our victories when he’s not playing, have we seen Hogan’s best? For supposedly the best young forward in competition he has some big flaws in his craft. Is there any chance he’s not the player we all thought he’d be when we first drafted him. His career will be and his next contract should be determined by his performance’s in big games.
  5. Come in Brad Green, he was one of my favourites.
  6. Surely Brayshaw has to be up there, on top of his clearance work he’s starting to kick the odd goal running into fwd 50. Really interested to see how Frost’s form continues as we enter the finals. Obviously in no ones top 5 players but if he can build on his current purple patch he will find himself getting a game every week. I think we could play Lever, Oscar and Frost together.
  7. You forgot to mention Oliver stands up in big games.
  8. Awesome, about bloody time. We wanted Would love to know who’s driving it.
  9. Not much love for JKH but he’s in so let’s get behind him.
  10. 3 out 4 of Richmond’s last 4 games have been victories by 3, 3 and 8. Everyone is gettable this year.
  11. Although a loss would mean I could watch the team week 1 of the finals this is a must win game. A home final first up and a potential dream run of all finals at the G should we be good enough to progress. It will be really interesting to see our mindset at the start of the game.
  12. Something that I don’t think anyone has considered is money. He’s 24 next year and in the last year of his contract, obviously none of us know how much he’s on but it would be fair to assume it would be quite substantial. Part of his contract would of been based on potential and the go home factor. This next contract should be naturally larger and his “payday”. But if his inability to perform in big games continues or a potential move to defence was to occur (I can’t see this happening, I think he would change clubs to where he could play forward) then he would/should be offered a contract that reflects his worth to the team. This could result in a significant difference between what we’re offering a what another club may offer.
  13. Being a Redleg my GF ticket awaits. Cant wait to watch the boys put Richmond to the sword.
  14. Dream big, on our day we can beat anyone. Stating the obvious we can’t afford any more injuries.
  15. I think the Pies will have the higher %. They play Freo while Hawks play the Swans.
  16. A hypothetical..... We beat Giants next week and the Hawks beat the Swans. If we were to beat Geelong and the Pies beat WCE in Perth. We could potentially play all our finals at the G if we we’re good enough to progress through.
  17. Can anyone remember how the swap over occurs in the finals? The winner of 5 v 8 plays loser of ? The winner of 6 v 7 plays loser ? Is there a real potential to play week 1 Geelong week 2 Pies week Hawks/Tigers
  18. I’m saying all teams have injuries. We didn’t lose the mentioned games because Lever and Viney weren’t playing. I think mindset is the reason we lost, and that’s an area the Hawks have us well and truly covered.
  19. How would Hogan go on Buddy, Ben Brown or a Joe Danniher type. If the answer is for Hogan to play in defence that actually strengthens the argument to trade him and a trade should be sought before any such move was to happen. If Hogan was to play in defence it would be an admissioyn of defeat. The no.1 trait of a key defender isn’t contested marking or kicking, it’s the ability to beat your opponent. That can be by out marking his opponent, but it can also be by punching/spoiling the footy. In order to be at the contest you also have to have the physical attributes to match up against some of the games best forwards. Hogan is a great mark leading up onto the ball but that doesn’t necessarily translate to outmarking fwds that just up at the footy. As for kicking, yes Hogan uses the ball well when passing by foot while others such as Frost and Omac often get criticised by their disposal but that’s why we’ve got the likes of Salem and Lewis down there. All players are required to kick the footy but there have been numerous times in most games where the ball could/should be passed off to our better users of the footy. In short I’d rather another gun mid than Hogan playing at CHB.
  20. Agree with this, but with this comes a significant pay drop.
  21. I hear you B.B. and totally agree, but the wheel has to turn in our favour at some point. I’m not confident but hopefull, so until it’s confirmed, for me we’re still alive.
