CHANGES: Rd 12 vs Brisbane
So many posts talking about Weid getting to contests and creating opportunities, and it’s only a matter of time until he starts clunking them. Weid has been in the system for a while now. Regardless of who plays they need to be taking those marks more often than not, we’re a genuine contender this year, no passengers full stop.

CHANGES: Rd 12 vs Brisbane
Was it fair on Brown being dropped in the first place based on this new competitive culture? Brown’s marks and goals against Sydney were more telling than Weid’s two goals in the third against the dogs. After going unsighted in the last qtr against the Crows you would of thought Weid would come out firing, only to deliver nothing for a half of footy where essentially the win was set up. Granted Brown did nothing in the VFL but I don’t think Weid should keep his spot on the back of a great team win given his input and what happened to Brown. Rounds 12 - 19 the more difficult matches are Lions next week and Port in Adelaide in Rd 17, by rd 20 we need to have one of the two locked in going into games Rd 20 v Dogs home, Rd 21 v Eagles away, Rd 23 Cats away then the finals.

Where will we play the Lions?
Agreed it should be played in Brisbane, must be neutral ground if not Alice.

Where will we play the Lions?
Unless you live here (probably only applies to about 14 of us).

GAMEDAY: Rd 11 vs Western Bulldogs
That was a statement, massive.

Alex Neal-Bullen
Daniel is an accumulator of the footy and runs all game, I personally don’t think he’s as damaging as some of the other half backs in the competition. Nibbler has been outstanding this year with his pressure and tackling, I hope he has a blinder tonight.

Caleb Daniel is overrated.

TEAMS: Rd 11 vs Western Bulldogs
Based on what....He went ok against North in his first game back from injury and for our club, kicked some crucial goals against the swans, didn’t do a lot against Carlton then poor in the VFL. Some of the best key forwards in the game today are in their late 20’s early 30’s. I’m backing him in to play a big part for us as the year goes on.

COVID & AFL 2021
Given the ring of steel that was once on the QLD / NSW border, and that I can be pulled over at any stage by the police and asked to produce my licence, I would have to disagree.

COVID & AFL 2021
It’s disappointing to say the least.

COVID & AFL 2021
Flew to QLD on Friday May 7th, there were two new cases in Sydney that week. A man who tested positive on the Wednesday and his wife testing positive on the Thursday. Upon arrival in Brisbane all passengers were greeted by members of QLD police and QLD health. I was simply asked how I was and if I had visited a hot stop, I replied I’m fine and no and was ushered past QLD health. NO TEMPERATURE CHECK NO LICENSE CHECK What if I was lying....Sadly incompetence runs this county. So many mistakes already made and no lessons learnt.

COVID & AFL 2021
This means absolutely nothing if it can take up to two weeks for symptoms to show. That’s if you’re buying into it to begin with....

Petracca/Oliver: Greatest Midfield Duo of All-Time?
No flag = no.

List needs
Obviously money may/would be a sticking point.

List needs
I know we love to hate/bag opposition players but when DeGoey is on he’s a very good player. If Weid wanted out I’d be more than happy for that to transpire.

An idea for a new product
They may have been, I just assumed they were pins. I’ll have a look and see if I can find it.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs Adelaide
Going to a wedding today, good friends of the family but f%#k me would it hurt to look at the draw. Then again I do live in Sydney and they are NRL fans.... Carn the Dees, all my multis have you in them.

NON MFC: Rd 10 2021
I think we can easily account for the lions, would love to have our fwd line settled by then. As for Richmond, no one can deny they’ve been a great team, but between all the whinging and seeing the vision of the off the ball incidents against GWS they can get stuffed. They also seem to forget that other clubs have injuries too.

An idea for a new product
On a Demon FB page someone had a picture of a pin set with 6-7 pins with our different logos from over the years, has anyone else seen this and or know where to get it? Thanks

An idea for a new product
Any new products / merchandise should have a range of Demon logos to choose from.

The Significance of 9 Wins in a Row
Earlier in the year someone started a thread “How many wins for finals?”, basically they went on to say they if we beat all the weaker sides and pinch the odd game or two against a top 4-6 side we can scrape in. I commented that what’s the point of making finals on the back of an effort like that, if we can’t beat them during the home and away season how do we expect to in the finals. Did you watch the games against Carlton, North and the Hawks? We weren’t playing anywhere near our best in those games but did enough to win. In years gone by they were the games we would of dropped, just because we didn’t doesn’t mean we’ve peaked. In some cases it means that us playing at 60 - 70% is still good enough to beat a lot of sides. (Another topic for another day is there isn’t enough talent for 18 clubs so going to 20 is just ridiculous). I’m also using history as guide, history tells us that teams that have great defensive units usually do well in September. Also that teams that have a core group of players coming through together in the 23 - 27 year age bracket. Add in a bit of luck with injuries and a bit of magic with Kozi Pickett and away we go. Obviously none of this guarantees us a flag but we’re heading in the right direction. We can make our own history, I said a few weeks ago I think we can go 13 & 0 into the break and I still believe that.

Reward the Ball Winner or Tackler
Apparently it’s not, but I’m sure it’s been paid.
-
Reward the Ball Winner or Tackler
Stupid suggestion by Hardwick. The incorrect disposal rules needs to be enforced properly. What happened to be swung in a tackle 360 degrees without disposing of the ball?

The Significance of 9 Wins in a Row
So if we’d dropped a game we wouldn’t of peaked? What indicators are you using as peaked? As for running out of puff, I don’t agree, all teams play 22 games. If this form continues, based on other results we may have the luxury of resting players later in the year.

The Significance of 9 Wins in a Row
In 2008 Geelong won 21 from 22 home and away games, but went on to lose the flag to Hawthorn. As we know the won it in 07, 09, 11.
