Not sure why there was a need to write this. I’m a massive fan of Fritsch and have been going into bat for him on here but comments like these I find amusing. Playing AFL and all that come with it is a two way street. I’d say his form slump has nothing to do with the birth of his son but more to do with football related issues. Are all our fwds partners expecting to give birth in coming weeks? As mentioned before hopefully we’ve got another father / son on our hands. Congratulations to Bayley and his partner, starting a family is an exciting time in one’s life.

My mate who supports Collingwood textured me straight after the game and said so you rate us top 4 now. I said no but top 6 yes. Hawks, GWS, Lions, Cats top 4 for me. Then Pies, Dogs, 7 -8 will be between Saints, Crows, Suns, Freo but won’t make the prelim. I know it’s a long season but let’s not forget GWS dismantling Collingwood in rd 0. It’s the coach / ing, watching Collingwood last week against Carlton and tonight, they don’t have elite kicks on every line and many of their fwd 50 entries including that last goal to Hill were scrappy. They have two clutch smalls in Elliot and Hill and three honest battlers in Miohcheck, Membret and McStay, but as Sam Newman said many years ago, “If you don’t have the best tall fwds getting around at least give them a chance by getting it in quickly” and that’s what Collingwood do so well.

We’re not playing as a team, some experienced players have seemingly checked out, some players playing for their careers and some just finding their feet.

Fwds don’t fire it’s a fwd line coach issue. Sad but true.

All with DeGoey, Houston, Goulden and Mills missing. How on earth can they play anything resembling a gameplan with key players out.

It’s not just our entries inside fwd 50, it’s our players inability to create space for each other, look at Adelaide v Geelong last night. Ours smalls are seemingly out of position more often than not.

For me if it purely down to a mass of key players injured I think a lot of us would cut him some slack (then again look at the Dogs) but our issues seem to be far greater than that. In any scenario he gets paid out, i’d have more respect if he was to walk away.

We’re all aware of the what’s happened over the last few years but end of the day footy is a results driven business and we’re going backwards at a rate of knots. We are so stale, boring and uninspired at the moment it’s actually embarrassing. We’re devoid of any confidence and are skills are arguably the worst in the competition. The quick ball movement has been around for a few years now and we have remained motionless why everyone has passed us by. A few weeks back we fell for the easy draw, great drafting and the fact our stars were back, four weeks later its season over. Pay Goodwin out and let’s all move on.

If a loss speeds up the process of Goodwin moving on then it can only be a good thing.
