NON-MFC: Round 17
Rd 10 port 39 v cats 115 Rd 11 Freo 100 v port 51 Rd 12 bye Rd 13 GWS v Port 66 (massive upset) Rd 14 port 93 v demons 68 Rd 15 port 52 v swans 71 Rd 16 port 110 v Carlton 60 Last 7 weeks losses to Geelong, Freo and Sydney, a bye and wins over Carlton / Melbourne / GWS. I need Lions in all of my multis. Saints agree are a chance as are Freo who are a massive chance. Beaten Sydney the last two times they’ve met at the SCG.

NON-MFC: Round 17
Reading all these comments does anyone actually think this competition can sustain a 19th and 20th team? If Tassie is to get a team a Melbourne based team must fold. Say what you want about the two most recent expansion clubs but they’re here to stay. Two teams in WA & SA works, two teams in QLD & NSW doesn’t really work but it was done with growth in mind. I’m all for one in Tassie but one must go. For me it’s North, yes sone people will be upset but I’d rather that than the total demise of the competition. For the remaining seven rounds how many times does anyone thing a team currently placed in the bottom 9 will beat a team in the top 9. I’m fully aware that Tigers had a dream run and are currently back down the bottom and Sydney played played off in last yearsGF and this is how the system is meant to work. But this time it feels different. Whilst I don’t think Sydney and Melbourne are as bad as were currently placed teams like North and bound to be down for a while.

% could prove the difference between finishing 3rd to 6th this season.

NON-MFC: Round 17
Right now yes but Lions are building momentum and GWS on their day have shown they can beat anyone (Lions, Cats @ Pies already. Dogs are an outsider Smokey for mine.

NON-MFC: Round 17
Yes and here we are handing out lessons to Windsor, JVR & Jeffo, in out in out…. A lot of people think it’s a lock that Goody coaches next year purely because of his contract, the way he’s selecting the teams tells the opposite story.

NON-MFC: Round 17
They do have Jagga Smith who was a gun U - 18 player, could be anything. But they did trade away this years 1st pick for him.

NON-MFC: Round 17
During Collingwood’s first qtr and half of the second they had some really ordinary disposal, this is no coincidence as this is about how long Carlton’s pressure lasted. They are definitely up there for teams running to space / creating space but GWS take the mantle for being the number one kicking team (I don’t look at stats very much, purely from what I’ve watched). Collingwood’s style at times resembles a mad / frantic play on at all costs style (Bulldogs are the same) which has the opposition feeling like they’re constantly under pressure. Obviously helps having some dangerous fwds to kick to helps but more opportunities are being created this way. GWS are poetry in motion, their ability to turn defence into attack and move the ball from one end of the ground to the other almost seems effortless at times. Think it was the third qtr last night when Elliot kick two goals in a row. The second of those Pies won the centre clearance and kicked to Elliot leading at the ball carrier, he marked and goaled. To me, whilst being a good passage of play this is just football basics done well. We win plenty of clearance but rather than kick long, low and direct we as everyone knows just throw the footy on the boot and bomb it long into a fwd line full of either stationary fwds.

NON-MFC: Round 17
Who’s that R-Jay?

NON-MFC: Round 17
GWS at full strength can match h the Pies for mine. Although sitting ninth on the ladder and not quite putting the Eagles to the sword just yet they are the only team this year to beat the Lions (Gabba), Cats (GMBHA) and Pies at home.

NON-MFC: Round 17
Yes they do, they’re well drilled and have good systems and a level of understanding amongst the players.

NON-MFC: Round 17
Did we even talk to Membrey? Not a star but plays his role well.
-
NON-MFC: Round 17
Pies with some real ordinary disposal so far, but we’ve been told they’re all elite.

NON-MFC: Round 17
Whitfield as well. They have traveled well this year with wins against Geelong and Brisbane.

Time to go Goody?
No & no it’s not.

And Melksham should get another year.

Time to go Goody?
Haven’t we done that already. Ultimately the head coach can instruct the assistants as what to focus on, in this Goodwin has failed.

Trade Targets
Buku Khamis has been omitted from the Dogs team for tomorrow night. From the limited times I’ve seen him he’s quite exciting, reasonable disposal, can take a mark and kicks goals. He skillset suits the current style of the game. He’s 190cm which is taller than I thought, he’s not the 200cm we want but what are our realistic options? 14 games this year for 13 goals 3 and 27 tackles laid.

Enter a new coach & gameplan and he can deliver again.

Time to go Goody?
To do nothing in the 1st then put in after that says we can when we can be bothered.
-
Time to go Goody?
1st qtr on Saturday didn’t reflect that.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Keep Trac. Trade Oliver. But before any of that we need a new coach.
