Exactly, last night was clinical but their last two games against Sydney and Carlton had a lot of ordinary entries inside fwd 50 but it went in quickly, low and into an open fwd line giving Hill, Elliot and DeGoey plenty of space to work in. We could do something similar win Kosi, Fritsch and Trac but no.

Lot of hate for Petty, he’s a 25 year old premiership defender with a lot of good footy left in him. With May being 33 and TMac 32 why would we trade out Petty. Petty is a solid mark as for his disposal, it’s what you’d expect from a KPD. We’ve got mids on big dollars that can’t kick a footy and half backs that can but struggle to kick more than 25 metres. As with Fritsch I’d be very surprised if a new coach would want either of them gone.

I personally thought the Lions should have won in 2023 if not for some dubious umpiring decisions.

So which assistant at the Dogs has them playing good footy at the moment? They were robbed by the umpires from beating the Pies and whilst ultimately choked against the Lions found themselves 30 + points up early in the third. The Dogs are currently without Bont, Treloar, Weightman and JUH, many on here were citing the poor start to our season was due to the absence of Windsor, McVee and Pickett. This assistant has lesser names players playing unified and a modern gameplan.

The skill of their fwds turned ordinary delivery (sometimes for to opposition pressure, sometimes due to poor kicking) into goals because of their ability to beat their opponent and having space to work in. GWS and Brisbane are the only teams I’d consider to have elite kicks arcoss all lines over the ground, GWS being the most balanced side in the competition.

True but we can do two things for the rest of the season and that is to play like we did in the 3rd last night as much as we can in the remaining games and secondly get games into kids line Jefferson and Brown. The longer Goody remains the less likely these kids will get a run.

Listening to Jones commentary was enough for me to know he was cut out to be a coach.
