How do other clubs manage without him?

We’re obviously not a top 8 side at the moment but bottom 4 is a bit much. I haven’t been this excited since the 2022 pre season. I think something a lot of people are missing is there are a lot of middle of the road teams which we could beat this season.

I’m assuming it’s only the 2 first round picks? Also depends on where we finish, I have us finishing between 8 & 10 so if that’s the case more than happy to trade the picks but if we wind up down the bottom I’d look at who’s available in the draft.

Just scrap it, was always going to happen. We need to stop thinking we have to compete with every other competition, we already have the greatest game.

Petty was never going to be the second coming of Neitz. Having just turned 26 last November he and Disco should be the two pillars of our back half for the foreseeable future.

I’m pleased Jeffo is seemingly progressing nicely but I’m not sure we should be playing 3 tall fwds plus Fritsch. Will be interested to see who makes the team come rd 1.

I commented last season about Collingwood (was using them purely as an example not the benchmark) their players make a lot of mistakes when they play fast footy, some due to player skill error and some due to the pressure applied by the opposition. But at times a teams defence succumbs to the pressure themselves of the constant bombardment of quick and at times unpredictable entries. A player running hard to create space and receive can make a average kick look good, and it also helps when both Elliot and Hill are firing as Elliot is an absolute star of the competition and Hill on his day is very dangerous. As mentioned by others having Latrelle frees up Kosi to spend more time in the middle but as Kosi showed last year he is still able to hit the scoreboards kicking 40 goals last year with 3 bags of 5. I think Fritsch and Melksham will thrive under Kings new gameplan and we will surprise quite a few teams. I think we will go alright defending the turnovers that will inevitably come, interesting to see how quickly our new players gel with the team.

Looking forward to the I told you so from both games after every game depending on how he plays. Let’s lock this and revisit (if absolutely needed) after the Giants season is done and dusted for 2026

I think we can beat North, Eagles, Bombers, Tigers, Carlton, Saints, Pies & Port. I don’t buy into it takes multiple years to learn a gameplan but it does take time for new players to gel. Miohcheck, Steele, CJ and Latrelle are the ones most likely to debut early for us. I think once we get some continuity we are every chance to upset a team or two this season. Pass mark is finishing 8-10 on the ladder. Then we go into wildcard weekend with a nothing to lose approach.

At times last year we showed we could move the ball quickly and effectively but not often enough. The trading in of CJ and Miohcheck as well as drafting in Latrelle indicates where we’re heading.
