On Frawley, think he might play back this week, that's where he was when they did a full field drill, so was Watts again, Garland is out so I suppose it is on how many talls Norths play. On where he is headed, no idea, he was right in the middle of everything as per usual -

Dawes left early but didn't seem hindered Jack Viney is looking forward to one last crack then a quick holiday in Vietnam and back into it, agrees with Roos that a full pre season will do wonders for Salem, Toumpas, Tyson, Riley, himself Salem absolutely shattered that Giroud out till Xmas with an ankle injury A quick example of how insular the players can become, Max Gawn wanted to know why if I am going for interviews in the Corporate world, I had to shave off my long hair and trim my beard right back "I thought they would just let you be yourself" -

Satyriconhome replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Gee I thought it was a training thread, no it's just OD coughing up bile. It was a beautiful sunny morning, so yes I went, this afternoon to be spent typing on here and burning whatever bridges I have left at my employer, today is my last day here. Hogan, Jayden Hunt, Jack Grimes, JKH and Tapscott were the only ones training who I think will not be picked this Saturday, Nicholson and McKenzie were training with the group. Missing is easier, and I am bound to forget some, so ask, Blease, Strauss, Georgiou, Evans, Garland, Spencer, Trengove, King, Toumpas, Clisby, Terlich, Harmes, actually I have used the club website so if they are not listed above they were training. Looks like Bail, Riley and Terlich got one year contracts, could only get to Roh Bail to confirm. Roos had a long chat to the group towards the end, gathered it was one last pep talk along the lines of it is Etihad and Norths, but it is the last game, let's have a real crack. Pates' really needs to see more of Hogan to realise that's how he runs (not a thing of beauty), he was doing laps with Jayden Hunt who has a classic running style and had no problems keeping pace. The drills were ok, a couple of missed targets, but then again. -
No I chatted to him about the upcoming draft period, interestingly if you show an interest and ask intelligent questions, you get some good answers and feedback, if you behave like a [censored] like some on here you get treated that way, we were actually chatting about us taking JKH and the Dayle Garlett scenario, we actually got that one right

This........the biggest problem we have is getting 22 players to perform at a consistenly high standard for 23 games.....Hawthorn and Sydney have this with one or two glitches per year..........
-
?.....you are kidding right?.....assume you mean the West Coast were the defence was under siege.....MFC 'supporters' never cease to amaze me...
-
It wasn't an attempt at sarcasm, I just wanted to rattle your cage, I know Jason girls, probably too much of an attempt to rattle, spoke to him last week at training, do you want me to ask his opinion on the talls?
-
...do you know this gets a bit wearing, we know, you and a few others won't let us forget.......we had a couple of games towards the back end of the season where the kicking skills were atrocious, we also had a couple of games where they were very good....get over it....
-
I thought you already knew, you advise Josh Taylor surely?
-
I read the Pie Night thread, we just need guys who can roll through the midfield, doing various roles, we do need a bit of class, but we need a few hard bodies in there, blocking, tagging etc, Terlich has already played as an inside mid at Casey....nobody on here has a problem with his attack on the ball and man, Roos probably sees the same thing.....I had a word with another player who gets bagged on here big Pencil, his education started the minute he got back into the Club after his ankle op this year, he is working with Greg Stafford, watching vision, learning where to go on the ground, they have him watching Mumford etc.....he also attacks man and ball with ferocity, only need the skills and nous sharpened....Terlich is the same
-
My take on Terlich going forward, think Macaffer I reckon, he has a mature body and is hard at it, sit him with Cross and teach him how to negate an opponent but still get a bit of the ball, he has kicked goals (not many) and he seems to be able to run all day, think his days at Half Back are over
-
Perpetuating the myth, Roh Bail's disposal effiiciency has averaged over his time at above 85%, so not rubbish, but keep going.......yawn
-
Yes but you are not Paul Roos and the rest of the footy dept (or are you), Dean Terlich won't give a flying f*** what anybody on here thinks, he has a new contract
-
I think with these 3 and the others already done, we can see the Roos mantra, you don't need 22 stars in a team, he has signed guys who give it everything, not the most skilful, Spencer, Jetta, Riley, Bail, Terlich...but I reckon with a targetted pre season to work on their 'deficiencies' he knows he will have 5 reliable role players.....we all know he will use the draft period to acquire a 'bit of class', we already have N Jones, Vince and Tyson, I reckon another 2 or 3 should do it
-
I would watch them in a minefield at the moment if it meant a win
-
Look it's been a long year....suggest you find a darkened room....have a good lie down.......one more game to go....I am going to Etihad in the hope they give a yelp....let Roos work his magic in the pre season
-
What you both have to remember is one of the louder posters on here will make a 'definitive statement' about a player and a lot of the sheep will follow, they bemoan the lack of development and then bemoan resigning three players who have the hard at it and defensive qualities, but don't think they will be able to develop the rest of the attibutes to make them 'a star',

Melbourne biggest issue (from an outsider)
Satyriconhome replied to Bluey's Dad's topic in Melbourne Demons
.....you really do have an issue, do you mention my name in your group therapy sessions as well?.......who needs enemies when we have 'supporters' like you, not watched any games lately? -
No I haven't I just don't need to keep starting topics to make me feel potent, there is just topic after topic regurgitating the same old same old, give me something new and I will join in, looking forward to next weekend, to see if we can actually give a yelp, if not move on to next year and hopefully Roos' vision becomes a bit clearer

As per the norm, pontificating without knowing facts, I knew he was gone a couple of weeks ago, but was told not to advertise. Maia was just 17 when he came over and had only played 1 or 2 games at a very low level, main issue is on the aerobic side, body would not behave, mutual agreement that this could be stumbling block, skills were improving every game he played, was glad he gave it a crack, enjoyed it and grateful for the opportunity (spoke to him)...had the respect of the playing group for giving it everything, coming from where he did. Going to return to study, which he put on hold, and play a bit of rugby back in NZ

For a lot of posters who seem to not care anymore, we are on to about topic nr 15 since Sunday, all banging on about the same thing. Reason I don't post a lot after a game like Sunday, what is the point, I was there, I saw it, it was horrible, I have no idea what is/went wrong. I went to training a couple of days before and everybody looked switched on and ready to go, I speak to them and ask them about the supposed 'scarring' they all deny it. I feel like going this week and just giving them the death stare. I could pontificate ad infinitum, but all that does it just not let go of it.... Does Roos know what is wrong and how to fix it, hopefully. Move on to next week, at least if I go to one of the Sports Bars to watch it, I can get reasonably priced food and drink........

Actually chap, no not a bad exercise, I suffered as much as everybody yesterday, I have sat through some shockers but that has to be up thereI actually agree with most, although being the eternal optimist, I would still have Frawley in there, dropped a bit because mishit the quote, I actually thought Bail and Pedersen were locks with Roos but it seems not, but you never know Old Dee patience is the key, Barry has had what how many games?....we are always too quick on here to write off ,

Let's cut to the chase... Who is gone!
Satyriconhome replied to inanunda's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have never apologised for Grimes, love you to find a post where I do, what I did say is that his 1% work compensates for the occasional horrific disposal (not as bad as most on here think it is), yesterday before he was injured he didn't miss a target, one of the very few who didn't, I prefer to analyse and make studied opinion, rather than the 5 or 6 topics we have today full of vitriol and abuse -
Jetta has appeared in most of the media outlets best, so which direct opponent? when he picked up about 5 or 6 during the game, as part of the GWS plan was to continually rotate the midfielders, this is what caught us out a lot of time

Satyriconhome replied to Satyriconhome's topic in Melbourne Demons
For the benefit of the interstaters and overseas, unlike us spoilt supporters who live 15 minutes walk from the G and 20 from Goschs........beautiful sunny morning, coffee first at AAMI park, watch training, have a chat to some nice young guys, (forgot) shake Roos' hand and thank him for getting Nev up and running again, strolled from Gosch's to the City, along the river, stopping for yet another coffee at that cool place under the footbridge at Southbank......then typing this....what's not to like
