Players to target at the end of the year
Satyriconhome replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
I would be very surprised if Roos goes after anybody over 30 this year, he still has Cross and Vince, we need guys in their early 20's to grow for 2 years under Roos -
Come on we all know it's WYL in his/her day job
-
Oh good, yet another infallible poster, are you elite at what you do, do you make a mistake now and again I did read it, again it is myth making, Jordie's disposal % was running at around 85 in the last few games
-
See this is how Demonland myths start, when you say serial offender, do you mean in missing set shots for goal or missing targets in general play, coz I can't actually remember the last time he had a set shot, I know he scored on on the run some time this season.......I just get frustrated, after a horrible loss we get topic upon topic bemoaning everything and everybody, yes it was a terrible miss but as Nasher says Jordie will know all about it
-
He certainly isn't the first 'professional' footy player to have a miss like that and he certainly won't be the last....it didn't [censored] me off unfortunately, I was half expecting him to miss, he had way way too much time to think about it, same problem that Roh Bail had which has been fixed. If Roos doesn't think Jordie can cut it going forward with his skills or lack thereof he will be dumped, a savage cull at seasons end is becoming more and more a reality, it doesn't need yet another topic to point out how bad the miss was......yes he missed, but nobody died, and it certainly didn't cost us the game, the last 20 minutes of the last quarter cost us the game
-
Another post from heroes sitting behind a keyboard, who if they played footy, never missed a tackle, didn't fluff a kick, didn't duck at least once, never missed a simple set shot etc etc.............yeah right!....my worse...got the ball inside the 50 and handballed over the defender to a teammate in the goalsquare, unfortunately put too much behind it and put it over his head and through the sticks...sigh Unfortunately I said the same thing to my partner....you could see he had way way too much time to think about it...it was bound to happen
-
I am not the only one, listen to Roos presser, he said the defence was solid, if the ball is coming in and the forward has hectares to lead into the only way you are going to stop them is fouling them, one on one Dunn and Jetta more than held their own, Viney needs the education, Roos says so, it will help him become a better player. That was my point about Riley and Kent (comprehension a bit beyond you), there is something to work with
-
Hang OD, yes yesterday was horrible, I walked out with about 5 minutes to go, for the first time ever,...and I am thinking of taking a blindfold next week, but there was still a flicker of life...Viney getting a bit more education, Nev Jetta and Lynden Dunn carrying on with their consistent performances, Kent, Riley,Tyson, Tommy Mc showing glimpses....we all know there will be big changes, and pre season will be a [censored]...but Roos has at least got something to work with, I have faith he will get us back on track
-
During bye week we had pages and pages of posters on here bemoaning the state of our playing list, and now 10 pages of angst, why are the posters surprised/dismayed/horrified that the performance yesterday was produced by the same list they have been whingeing about?

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 19
Satyriconhome replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Nice nickname, with a name calling post of that quality, you should consider Richard Cranium, Matt Jones and Gawn played in the VFL last week, who would suggest as an in then, or is clear thought a bit beyond you? -
Yes I have played footy, and played it hard and tough without resorting to the biff, as Carey said on Talking Footy, backing into a pack is tough, not hitting or grabbing someone, nobody knows whether the story about Viney and Martin is true, would be surprised the Players Association wouldn't make a stink about Viney still being in the industry if it was correct, This topic is now degenerating into the usual bagging, move on, the Club is going forward
-
Oh yeah!...violence that's the answer, that will fix everything...sigh.....
-
I asked him a few weeks ago, commiserating with him about all the hoo-hah, a lot of it from people who have never changed jobs for money or success...right?, he just told me, (and that noboby believes him, and he is sick of it) that he hadn't made his mind up yet....is it true, nobody except Chip knows that If he decides to leave, he leaves, we get a compensation pick, move on
-
So you thought you would add to it again, pathetic, couldn't you just put the second half, made you feel better did it? Shannon Byrnes went out and tried 100% every time he pulled on MFC jumper, that'll do me, hope he enjoys his retirement and looking at his two premiership medals, which is two more than anybody on Demonland will ever get
-
Ok, I have no confidence it what he is saying about Frawley leaving
-
That's not the question, Arrow needs to state why he is so confident in his assertion about Frawley, would think that Roos wouldn't want to be messed with so if there was even the slightest suspicion that Frawley had made up his mind and was going, he wouldn't be in the team....just saying
-
I meant Frawley, not Barrett, although I have spoken to Barrett once, and he is a [censored]
-
What authority, the Herald Sun?, the Age?, Damian Barrett, last time I spoke to him, he promised me he hadn't made a decision as yet
-
Actually it's hypocrisy, but it is Demonland.......I don't blame the players these days, it is now a business, if we had success and we wanted to do a Buddy with an elite player and Frawely was the one the club decided to squeeze out (if he was a free agent and actually wanted to stay) to fit the Buddy in, the club wouldn't hesistate
-
...your bio says you are interested in politics....not Australian politics I take it then.......not a CFMEU member are you....on one of your many rostered days off...
-
You just whine too much for me, I've been through the same 7 years, lots of us have, WE KNOW
-
Aaaawwwww!!!!! poor you, been through the last 7 years, of course every supporter wants to see wins, tempered by where we are at, at the moment, yesterday was a sign that after a poor couple of weeks, we may have righted the ship again and a win or two becomes slightly more possible
