WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - FRASER ROSMAN
faultydet replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hands look great in his video, and that speed for a fella of his height was quite surprising. Would love to know what position the footy department has in mind for him. A lighting fast 190+cm wingman, umm, yeah! Welcome to the Dees Rosman family. Hope your boy has a blast at the Dees, and we can all see some success together. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAKE BOWEY
faultydet replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Welcome aboard Bowey family. Congrats to Mum & Dad Bowey. Must feel bloody amazing to have a kid drafted to the AFL. Jake, if you play forward can you please tackle often, and chase very very hard? We could use some pressure forward of centre, not to mention that great field kicking of yours. Good luck mate. Hope your career is long and very successful. -
Please can our new midgets be manic defenders. Our forward line pressure is woeful.
-
Wasn't Boyd a number 1?
-
Obviously it's highlights, but that Nik Cox video on Youtube is a cracker. Starts off looking gangly and unco but jesus the kid can play.
-
Brown is a goal kicker. Why on earth would we recruit him only to play him out of position? It also take his marking power away from the scoring zone and replaces it with a bloke who juggles every mark he contests.

Some of our sides under Northey were great defensively, at least for back then. The current tigers side (and to embarrass myself I will include the St Kilda side - occasionally) are light years ahead of that. We don't just lack defensive effort, we lack consistency of defensive effort. No amount of tall forwards is going to fix that.
-
Was about to post the same thing when I saw your post. Very strange suggestion.
-
The Tigers have shown that manic, unrelenting team defence can win multiple flags. I think all 4 of those blokes playing at the same time would not help to apply enough defensive pressure and to compound the problem all 4 would spend most of their time forward of centre. We are already FAR too porous out of our front half. Yuck.

Tell Tom thanks for the info.

We live in Airlie Beach, about 2hrs north of Mackay. You probably know already but it's the Whitsunday Islands. We had a shutdown for a while. The place was a ghost town, but it's pumping here now, even without the interstate tourists. We had heaps of international travellers here when it started, most of them on long term (1 - 2 years) working visas. Many of them are still here. Apart from the international travel, nothing much has changed. It's awesome here.

All of my family are in Vic, and they all mask up willingly. Don't need it where I am as we have had zero cases for ages while the border is closed.
-
I've seen a grand total of four, that's right 4 masks since the WuFlu started, and 2 of them were the masks my wife a I wore to our Covid tests this week after catching a cold. We work in the coal mines, and they take the contact tracing seriously here. That and closing the border to Dans disaster seems to have done the job.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
faultydet replied to Dee tention's topic in Melbourne Demons
For years we have had a weakness forward compared to other teams when it comes to real height in our KPP's Brown and Jackson both at 200cm (ish) gives me cause for hope with our kick and hope forward 50 entries. Our footy department obviously thinks we are in premiership mode by chasing Polec and Smith also. They must believe we can win one in the next couple of years......lets hope we are not overrating our list the way North did. -
Dangerflog can play, but jeezus he is a [censored].

Be difficult to knock back a good offer from a club like Geelong. He is either weirdly attached to his family legacy, or a masochist.

Fauxfacts is much softer on my date, and being a broadsheet, provides many more wipes per page.

Jesus Christ what a joke of a post Demonland. Every lefty on this site finds a way to insert Donald Trump into every damn thread and you say bugger all.

Sounds far worse when its read in the voice of Chairman Dan. -
Agree. I immediately thought it would be a 3rd.

Giants by 50 Our blokes have already checked out.

We lost consecutive games to the 13th and 14th placed sides, with a guaranteed finals place on offer. The season ended last round, and it was BAD Looking forward to the phone call from a player chasing the 3 memberships I am cancelling tomorrow. My 32 yr old son told me in a phone call this week that he is thinking of buying a Gold Coast membership next season. I didn't laugh at him. I simply wished they had a better guernsey in case I decided to do the same. [censored] this loser club. I've had enough.

Unequivocally yes. proven beyond doubt by 56 years of abject failure. Exactly this. So many on here let the excitement get to them and start calling out the doomsayers after a single good win, and yet those of us who have seen it all before are proven right again and again. There is a very deeply ingrained culture of failure, or at least acceptance of "near enough is good enough". This coach will not be the man who drags us out of it either. Corporate speak and emotionless drones are never the type to motivate a group that is satisfied with just being on an AFL list.
